Visitors to Bell Village often found the constant ringing annoying. Their complaint was a bell atop Village Hall that never stopped. It rung all day and night, a tune that was perfectly synced like an eternal metronome. It drove anybody not used to the noise insane, so much so they couldn't wait to leave the place. But the villagers didn't notice it anymore. The sound had simply become the soundtrack of their lives, background noise that let them feel calm with a sense of normalcy. It wasn't until the bell stopped that the villagers finally went mad from the silence.
