Scientists were stumped how it happened. All they know is that one day everybody woke up without a sense of taste. It happened nearly simultaneously around the world. A global phenomenon that sent the culinary industry on fire. How could they exist on a planet without taste? Spicy. Sweet. Salty. None of it mattered anymore. It was just chaos. People stopped caring about their meals. Eating ceased to be an adventure. It was just a chore now. A duty one was to perform to provide sustenance. It wasn't long before society collapsed in on itself, everyone begging to taste again.
