The princess was known far and wide as the most beautiful young woman in all the lands. Eager to find her a suitor, the king called all sorts of men, barons and dukes galore, to come and plead their case for her hand in marriage. But the princess hated her options and cursed her beauty. To dissuade the men's advances, the princess arrived at court with deep cuts all over her face. Her visage had been ruined, covered in a completely bloody mess. The men all ran screaming from the castle. Too bad they never learned she was wearing makeup.
