Little Charlie didn't consider himself a cruel child, but he still liked to play tricks, especially on animals who weren't able to fight back. This was on Charlie's mind when he offered bread to a duck only to retract his hands and eat it instead. Charlie thought it was hilarious. The duck did not. In fact, what the duck found hilarious was to follow Charlie around, quacking at him everywhere he went. Quack. Quack! QUACK! The noise never stopped or let up for an instant. It was even the last thing Charlie heard when he died as an old man.
