🦋Chapter 16: A Rare Opporunity🦋
My eyes widened. What did he mean by that? Daisy was just as baffled as she blurted out. "W-What do you mean?"
"I have seen the future. Carry on this mission and cherish it, for it will be your last mission together." Enoch warned.
My heart dropped at his words. This team is my family. What was I going to do without them? A million thoughts ran through my head. We had been through so much together to drift away, to leave each other.
"It...That's...That's not possible. I-I..." Daisy trailed off in disbelief as tears glistened in her brown eyes. "Enoch, this is my family."
"Of course. Yet this is the nature of family, isn't it? I have seen it countless times on countless worlds." Enoch pointed out. "People arrive, so we celebrate, and people leave us, so we grieve. We do what we can with the time in between, but the cycle is always there. No one escapes it. Not even me."
My stomach churned. He was right...But that didn't make it any less painful. I have already lost too many people, too much of my family and friends. This wasn't fair at all.
"Which means you're not alone. You're a part of that cycle." Coulson stated.
"Like every other living thing." Daisy and I said, looking at Coulson.
"Fitz, Juliana. They were my best friends." Enoch croaked out.
"And you were a good friend to the both of them. You were a good friend to all of us. We won't forget what you did here Enoch. You're a good friend." I informed them.
Enoch gave us one last look before his eyes slowly shut as he said his last sentence. "As I have always..."
He never finished his sentence as he had finally died right in front of us. Tears streamed down my cheeks as my heart dropped. Enoch was such a good friend. How I wish he didn't have to die. The Zephyr then violently shook before Mack's voice rang out. "Jump successful, everybody. We're safe."
I sighed in relief. We got out, we survived...but at what cost?

As soon as we left the time storm, we returned to the 1980s to the Lighthouse to deal with Nathaniel and to help Jiaying and my mom with the Inhumans, our people, stuck in Afterlife. We have to rescue them. Currently, Mack, Coulson, Elena, May, Lucky, and I were in one of the elevators.
"Stuck in the 1980s. Used to have nostalgia for them. That is very gone." Mack mentioned.
Coulson wore an amused look at his words. I grimaced, remembering our little adventure in the eighties. I have had enough of the eighties, and quite frankly enough of this time traveling mission. I just wanted to go home. The door of the elevator then opened, revealing Roxy, from Deke's and my band. She wore a gray suit with a gray coat, gray pants, and a pink blouse with heels. It was good to see a familiar face after everything we've just been through.
"Roxy. It's good to see you." I greeted with a smile.
Roxy returned my smile at once, happy to see us. "Likewise. Didn't expect you again so soon."
Mack let out a chuckle. "Yeah, well, couldn't be helped."
We then walked out into the hallway as Roxy stood beside us, informing us she gotten into the S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy, which Coulson, Mack, and I were happy and proud of. Roxy is a good woman and capable of being a great agent.
"I know you guys are up to some top-secret stuff. The Lighthouse is all yours. Control is up and running. Wish I could hang with you." Roxy mentioned.
"Congrats on getting into the Academy." Coulson said.
