🦋Chapter 38: The Strange Sapphire🦋
I let out a groan as I felt immense pain surge through my head. Memories of what just happened came back to me like a wave. My eyes fluttered open, and what I saw baffled me. The abandoned place in the foyer, the hallway by the door, was now filled with coats on a hangar, a painting of a lighthouse, a flight of stairs and a door leading to the living room. It looked like someone, a family had been living here. I furrowed my brows. What was going on? This wasn't here before.
I then felt an immense pain surge through me, I let out a cry as it overwhelmed me. Tears pricked my eyes. What was going on? I then remembered what I did with Damian. I was able to push past the pain and stop him. I can do the same now. With that in mind, I used all my strength to ram the pain back, and I quickly found the source of the anguish. It was coming from Wanda and it surround the entire town of Westview. My eyes widened. Oh Wanda...I have to reach her and stop her. I bet she's in so much pain that she doesn't realize what she's doing. However just as I was about to storm out the door, when someone from behind me spoke up.
"Mari." A familiar baritone voice rang out.
My heart nearly dropped. No...it can't be. It's not him. It's just a trick, it's just something that is messing with my mind. I kept my gaze forward as I placed a hand on the doorknob.
"Mariana. Look at me, please." His voice urged, sounding brittle.
My heart ached to hear his voice like this. I shut my eyes. No, I can't. I won't do it. This is just another facade, like what happened when I was trapped in the Dream Dimension.
"Synp, please look at me." He advised.
I couldn't take it anymore. Daring to turn around, I saw Stephen, dressed in an elegant suit, one that looked like 1950's. He wore a pair of glasses and his hair was combed to the side.
"Welcome home, darling." Stephen announced.
He wore a loving smile as he extended a hand out towards me. My breath hitched. I stared at him in awe. I took a step towards him, but I stopped. What about Wanda?
"Wanda is fine, dear." Stephen's voice rang out as if hearing my thoughts, baffling me.
"What?" I blurted out in utter shock, turning back to face him.
"We can finally be together, Mariana. Don't you want that?" Stephen asked.
Yes, more than anything. I care about Matthew, but he will never be Stephen. With that in mind, I gave in, nodding.
"Yes, I do. More than anything in the universe." I confirmed.
A smile grew on his face as I took his hand in mine. A wave of black, gray, and white surrounded us, engulfing us. I now wore a sapphire blue dress, a hair of heels, a set of pearls along with my crucifix and Stephen's necklace that he gave me with my long chocolate brown hair in curls with white highlights, resembling the white hair that Stephen had on both sides of his side. A smile grew on my face. I'm right where I belong. I am home.
