🦋Chapter 43: Back Into The Hex🦋
"I want to be happy, Wanda." I insisted. "And in there I am happy. I can live the life I want."
A smile appeared on Wanda's face, looking happy to hear my words. She then gave me a nod, urging me to come along with her.
As soon as we reached the barrier, she extended her hands. Scarlet beams appeared from her hands and as soon as she touched the Hex, the entire wall turned scarlet red. I stared in awe.
I took a step towards the barrier, but I stopped, remembering Robbie was here. I turned around to see the baffled looks on Robbie's, Kora's, Darcy's, Jimmy's, and Monica's faces. I'm so sorry, Robbie. But you said it yourself, I deserve to be happy, and the only way I can be happy is through Wanda's Hex. Meanwhile, Hayward spun around, looking furious.
"Stop right there, Reyes!" Hayward shouted out. "If you go in there with Wanda, I will consider you her accomplice. I will have you sent to the Raft. You will never see the light of day. I will personally make sure of it."
I was tired of people telling me what I can and cannot do. What about what I wanted? For once, could I do something that made me happy? For too long I have done what was expected of me, followed orders, made others happy...but that ended today. I wanted my happiness, I wished for a life like this, and there is only one man I would like to share this life with. I am so sorry, Matthew, but there is only one person who holds my heart, and that is Stephen. No matter what I do, he will never leave my heart. I will always love Stephen.
I narrowed my eyes at Hayward, my blood boiling, having had enough of Hayward. "I'd like to see you try, Hayward. But we both know how that would go."
Little did I know that my eyes were blue, the color of cerulean to be exact. I then gave Robbie one last look as I mouthed to him. "I'm so sorry."
With that, I turned back around, prepared to return to my new life. Going through the barrier, I felt immense pain, which was coming from Wanda. However, remembering what I learned from the past, especially with Damian, I used all my strength to push past that pain as I entered back in the town.
As soon as I walked through barrier, I was suddenly standing on the sidewalk in front of my home, though I felt different. I felt all tingly inside of me. My heart was hammering away in chest as fast as a hummingbird's wings. Little did I know my eyes had glowed a bright blue for a few moments before it vanished, returning to my chocolate brown eyes.
What was going on with me? I inhaled deeply. It must be nothing. It'll pass. I then glanced down to find myself wearing a pair of blue jeans, a red and blue plaid shirt along with a pair of suspenders, red sneakers, and my black hair was in curls. I immediately realized I must be in the eighties. As if I did not had enough of the eighties. Well, at least I will have Stephen, our children, and Lucky. Well...that was strange. I kept my memories from outside the Hex this time. How interesting.
I took a step towards my front yard to get to the front door, and the strangest thing occurred. As I arrived at the door in a heartbeat, everything around me froze, the neighbors walking around, the bees and flies stuck in the air. But it all happened in a flash before everything returned to the way it was. I furrowed my brows. Well...that was odd. I snapped out of my thoughts as I heard Stephen's voice ring out from inside the house.
"Andrew, stop trying to send your sister to the mirror dimension. And Sofia, stop trying to freeze your brother." Stephen pleaded. "Please!"
Oh jeez. It sounds like he needs my help. With that in mind, I opened the door, revealing Sofia and Andrew, who were now ten years old, baffling me. I almost didn't recognize them, but that quickly changed as Andrew looked much like Robbie when he was much younger and Sofia looked so much like Stephen, having his same bluish and greenish eyes, and she had black hair on side of her head and white hair on the other side of her head, just like Stephen with his strands of hair. Both Andrew's and Sofia's eyes lit up when they saw me.
