🦋Chapter 4: Everything's Not Copacetic 🦋
"We need to complete the mission. Then we'll deal with May." Coulson said, echoing my thoughts.
I nodded. "He's right. We have to see this through."
With that, Daisy made her way over towards the woman, taking off the piece of cloth that she had shoved into the woman's mouth. Daisy glared at the woman with much hatred. Hopefully we can get something out of her and quickly.
"Now that I know what you are, I will ask you one more time. Where is Freddy gonna end up?" Daisy asked.
"On the right side of history. You can't stop progress." The woman retorted.
"We don't want to stop anything. We just want to find our friends." I corrected.
"Well, then you can go to Hell." She shot back.
Great...She's no help at all. Koenig immediately intervened. "Wait. I know where that is. I've been there."
"I'm sure you have." Elena retorted.
"No, no. Hell's Harbor. Where the double-crossers go to double-cross the double-crossers." Koenig informed us.
I grimaced. "Sounds lovely."
"But you'll never make it there unless you can fly. There's no trains fast enough." The woman protested, growing nervous.
"We can fly." Coulson rebuked. "Tell us how to find it."
"I'll tell you on the way." Koenig offered.
"That's not possible." Coulson replied.
"I'm not telling you anything unless you take me along. Freddy's my responsibility, too. I want answers. If you want to help your friends, that's my price." Koenig argued, refusing to back down.
I grimaced. If we bring him along, we'll be changing history. However, if we don't, then Koenig won't give us any answers and we risk the Chronicoms reaching Freddy and killing him, which will also change history, and for worse. We exchanged grim looks, hesistant on what to to do. We are in bit of of a pickle. Everyone remained silent, but Coulson, Daisy, Elena, Jemma, Marisol, and Rosalia looked over at me. I inhaled deeply before giving my answer.
"Guess we have no choice." I said, caving in.
With that, we took off in a car that Deke, Marisol, Rosalia, and Daisy stole to get away from the Chronicoms. After we dropped off the woman at the hospital, we made our way to the Zephyr, blindfolding Koenig. When we reached the hangar bay of the Zephyr, we were greeted by a shocking sight. We saw May hitting Enoch with a fire extinguisher, creating a wound in Enoch's head, revealing his hardwiring. My eyes widened. What the hell is she doing?
"May! Stand down." Coulson advised.
As we climbed out of the car, May lowered the fire extinguisher as she turned around to face us. She didn't look fazed as she saw Coulson. Instead, she cocked her head to the side, inspecting him.
"You're not Sarge." May said.
"No. I'm not." Coulson confirmed as he approached May.
"You're not Coulson either." May replied.
"Well, yes and no." Coulson responded, earning no reaction from May. "Aren't you at all surprised? I mean...I was dead."
"You still are." May corrected.
May dropped the fire extinguisher on the ground before storming off. We all exchanged baffled looks. What the hell? Jemma, Daisy, Coulson, Rosalia, Marisol, Elena, and I made our way to the lab, where Jemma sedated May without any protest from her and she was then placed back in the chamber. Once May was inside the chamber, Lucky came running in. He wagged his tail before running towards me, happy to see me.
