🦋Chapter 20: Final Showdown🦋

At that moment, Juliana turned towards me. "Can we talk alone?"

I nodded. "Yeah, sure."

With that, we headed into the lab, which was completely empty. As soon as we were in the lab, Juliana spun around to face me.

"I need to talk to you about Damian." Juliana began.

I hesitated. "I can't beat him, Julie. He can create illusions and give you pain with just one look. And to be honest, I don't know if I want to face him...not after what he's done to me."

"Mari, I know what he did to you and I'm sorry I couldn't be there to stop it from happening or warning you about it." She apologized. "But I know this, you are stronger than him. You have suffered so much pain, but his pain is temporary. Use that pain, turn it into fuel, into power and turn it against him. You can and will beat him. I know it, Mari."

I don't know if I'll be able to do it, but I'll give it all I got. The plan was that Daisy would fight Nathaniel, while I would Damian. And we would have to sacrifice ourselves in order to defeat the both of them and destroy the mother ship of the Chronicoms. If everything went according to plan, then Kora would be there with Coulson, Mack, May, Lucky, and Alexis to bring us back to life. I merely gave her a nod and forced a smile.

Once it was time to go, Daniel, Elena, Fitz, Jemma, Juliana, Marisol, and Rosalia made their way to the Quinjet. Meanwhile, Alexis, Lucky, Coulson, Mack, Daisy, and I made our way to the cockpit to see Chronicom ships not far from us. We made sure to power down everything in the Zephyr. Meanwhile, the Quinjet took off, cloaking before making its way towards the temple.

"The Hunters are gonna be scanning for us everywhere." May warned.

"Hang tight. We gotta wait for our moment. Wait for it." Coulson advised.

We watched as the round Chronicom ships engulfed with colorful lights made its way, closer and closer towards us. My heart hammered violently against my chest, holding my breath as I stared out the window.

"Wait for it." Coulson repeated.

I grimaced. Please Coulson, stop. He's just adding to my anxiety. He was not helping one bit. Turns out I was definitely not the only one who felt that way.

"You don't need to keep saying it." May retorted, having had enough as well.

We then saw blasts appear from the ship closest to us. We have only one shot at this. We have to make sure the blasts hit the temple, destroying it for good.

"Now!" Coulson exclaimed.

May turned the power back on as she took control of the ship, flying us down towards Earth. The blasts missed us, hitting the temple as the past Zephyr disappeared just in time. We then cloaked the ship, making our way towards the main Chronicom ship. Immediately, I contacted the Quinjet.

"Quinjet team, head back to the Lighthouse." I ordered.

"On our way." Elena's voice rang out.

"That's some serious flying there." Mack commented.

"That used to be all I did." May quipped, glancing over at Coulson.

Once we were inside the hangar of the Chronicom ship. I hurled blue beams at the ground not far from us, allowing us to get inside. A huge chunk of the floor was torn apart, giving us a way in. Mack threw down a rope, allowing May, Coulson, Mack, Daisy, and Alexis to climb down. Meanwhile, Lucky jumped down onto the ground without a scratch. With Levi's help, I slowly floated down towards the ground, joining the team. I looked around to see the radioactive blue spheres all around the room.
