🦋Chapter 19: The Last Mission Together🦋

Oh well, I don't know if that's reassuring or frightening. Jemma then grabbed the device from the table, making her way into the room. We trailed behind her, following her into the room. Jemma reached a table with an empty spot, where the device seemed to slip inside easily.

However, as soon as she put it down, nothing happened. My shoulders slumped. Well, this isn't what I was expecting. This can't be it.

"I don't know if it's supposed to explode or save us, but I have to admit...kinda disappointed." Coulson admitted.

"There's got to be something else. Jemma, I know that somewhere inside that you understand this. Just think, okay?" Daisy advised, turning to face Jemma.

"Exactly. You knew how to put the pieces together. You knew about the singing key. Deep down in your mind, you know how to solve this. If anyone can, it's you." I stated, encouraging her.

"You kept...You kept saying that you were married." Daisy mentioned, trying to help jog her memory.

Jemma's eyes widened as she blurted out. "'I now pronounce you...'"

She then turned to face Coulson. "You said those words."

Coulson cracked a smile as he gave her a nod. "I did."

Jemma then turned to face the rest of us with a smile. "You were all there."

I returned her smile at once as I recalled the day. We were all happy that Fitz and Jemma were finally getting married, something that was long overdue.

"We were." May confirmed.

"I was married. I am married. I have proof." Jemma mentioned as she glanced down at her hand, where her wedding ring lied.

She let out a sigh before making her way towards the device, slipping off her ring. Jemma hesitated before placing the ring on top. As soon as she did, a white light appeared from the middle of the device. As soon as it powered up, a white light was released, hitting the blue panels, causing them to glow.

After a few moments, it opened up, revealing a tunnel filled with different colors. I stared in awe. Whoa...In a matter of seconds, two figures emerged, wearing jumpsuits and masks on their faces with blue lights. What the...? We then watched as they took off their masks, revealing their faces. My eyes widened. It was Fitz and Juliana. A huge smile appeared on my face as a chuckle escaped my lips.

"Fitz, Juliana." I gasped.

They're back! Fitz and Juliana looked around, happy to us. Alexis, on the other hand, stared at Juliana in complete shock and awe. She then constantly glanced back at Juliana and me. Oh yeah, I'll definitely have to explain that later. As soon as Fitz saw Jemma, a huge smile appeared on his face as his eyes lit up. "Jemma. You did it. Hey! It worked!"

Fitz was about to hug Jemma, when she took a step back, raising her hands. She flinched, looking uncomfortable.

"No, stop...stop that." Jemma urged.

Fitz's face fell, looking at her in shock. He then took a few steps backs, raising her hands.

"She doesn't remember me, does she?" Fitz asked, looking at the rest of us. Reluctantly, we gave him a nod. Fitz let out a sigh. "Damn."

Fitz then turned to face the rest of us. "Juliana and I are just glad to see you all in one piece."

"One piece?" Daisy repeated in disbelief.

"Fitz, aren't you worried?" I questioned, motioning towards Jemma.

"Simmons' mind is in shambles." Daisy protested.
