"Is that normal?" Iselen asks raising an eyebrow and staring at me perplexed. "I was very surprised when I saw you walking down the aisle this evening."
"Don't you like it?" I answer with another question. I can see out of the corner of my eye how the werewolf gestures discreetly at the vampire who nods immediately, nervously.
"Of course, yes, I love it, it's just that I didn't know a bride could wear a mint green veil. I thought there were rules about this and white was mandatory but it looks good, you're beautiful and the color matches your eyes. There's nothing prettiest in this world than your eyes and Terra's eyes, no jewel can compete with them, in my humble opinion..." I can't help laughing out loud, cutting her off.
"It's okay, babe, calm down. I'm glad you like it and no, there're no rules. I picked out a green veil because it's trendy, I felt like wearing something different and we were going to get married in a garden... I thought it'd be a good idea."
"You look stunning, my love," Terra leans forward to kiss my cheek. "You look like the ethereal Queen of the Wood Elves."
"That was the whole point," I admit quietly, grimacing. "I don't want anyone thinking that I look like a dangerous half-demon who came out from hell or something like that... a horrible monster..."
"Babe, nobody believes you're a monster," Iselen hugs me tight, smiling. "Everybody adores you, magical creatures that come to the Wind Rose think you're the best hostess ever, even better than us although we have centuries of experience, you've planned an amazing party, they're having the time of their lives... Ruby, if they believed that you're a dangerous half-demon, Elric wouldn't have left his cave to come here tonight."
"That's true, the guy is distrustful," I answer laughing. The wizard is sitting in a corner under the branches of an oak tree, drinking champagne and looking at other guests cautiously while fixing the II World War helmet lined with tinfoil on his head. "Have I told you that you both look very handsome today wearing those dark suits?"
"A dozen of times, but you can repeat it as many times as you want because it's true and we love hearing it from your lips," the wolf admits, fixing the cuffs of her shirt, the simple gold wedding band shines on her finger and I can't help smiling when I remember that I myself put it there an hour ago. Iselen also picked out a discreet gold band despite I told them I could buy two diamond rings for them to match Terra's mother's engagement ring. But they answered that it was not their style and I could save the money to spend it in a honeymoon trip, I suggested we should go to Paris and take a look at the building the vampire owns in the city, maybe make plans to restore it, and they accepted immediately.
But before, we have to enjoy this wonderful party. The witches, necromancers, Maeve, Raven and some other friends like fairies and nymphs have done a great job and the garden is illuminated by small lanterns, candles and fireflies. Someone casted a spell and the lawn is covered with small white flowers that smell heavenly. There're also white roses in silver vases on every table, white doves on tree branches and white butterflies fluttering above our heads while guests try the druid's delicious food and drink berry liquor made by nymphs and pear wine made by pixies. Judging by the volume of the laughing, I'd say that the liquor is too strong again, but no one seems to care and they keep drinking.
On the other side of the garden, under a wooden arch covered with more white roses and green branches, Maeve performed a lovely ceremony while the sun set and stars started shining over our heads. Actually, I feel that time has flown: I finished getting dressed in Terra's room helped by Lea and Zara, I walked down the aisle holding my white roses bouquet, holding my breath when I saw my beautiful brides that were holding the dogs' leashes and, suddenly, in the blink of an eye, we were married and everybody was clapping. It's already midnight and the party is in full swing.
