Sara
I woke up with a massive headache from crying myself to sleep. I looked at the time on the clock on the wall. 10:37 a.m.. Wherever my book was, it had better be safe. Hopefully no one read it. I lay in the bed, staring at the ceiling. I didn't know what to do. It felt like ages, until a nurse came in the room and gave me 'breakfast'.
"Here you go." she said, putting the food on the table that was on my lap.
The eggs were cold and tasted horrible, the bacon was cold and super chewy, and the toast wasn't even toasted. But, it was food. I don't get that very often.
"Thanks." I said, swallowing some egg.
"Is there anything else you need?" The nurse asked when I finished.
"No." I said.
"Your attitude is different this morning." She pointed out.
I didn't respond. I just sat on the bed, looking at my reflection on a spoon. Most of my cuts were rapidly healing, and my bruises were a lighter shade of purple now. My eyes were puffy from crying and my hair was a mess. After a while, she took the spoon from me, smiling. She left the room with the dishes and the table.
"There are some boys who want to visit you." She said when she came back.
"Oh." I said.
"Can I bring them in?"
