Sara
"Oh, where did the party go? We're ending it on the phone. I'm not gonna go home alone. Oh, where did the party go?" I sang.
"SARA!" I heard booming footsteps approach the door.
I quickly ran to my iPod and turned the music off. I threw my iPod under my bed and ran for my speaker. I threw it under the bed also. The doorknob jiggled. My heart began to race as I tidied up my desk and flopped onto my bed head-first.
"SARA! OPEN THIS DOOR!" It wasn't Papa.
"Sam?" I asked.
"OPEN THE DOOR, SARA!" He yelled.
I stood up and hesitantly opened the door. Sam was standing there, looking down the hall. He looked down at me and grabbed my arm.
"Where did you get that music?" He asked me, smiling a bit.
"I was cleaning Mum's room when I saw her iPod under the bed. It had $400 on it, Sam!" I exclaimed a bit too loudly.
"Shhhh! Really?" Sam shushed me.
"Yeah, I got some music. This Fall Out Boy band is amazing." I whispered.
"Let me listen."
"What about Papa?"
"He left to get food. You know how long he takes."
"How did you get out?"
"He gave me the key because I told him I had to pee."
"You're so clever. Wait, Papa left?"
"Yeah, but he locked all the exits."
"Even the windows?"
"Yup. What's Fall Out Boy?"
"They're amazing."
I lead him in my dim room and crawled onto my knees under the bed. I searched for the iPod. I felt something cold and rectangle-ish. I pulled it out from under the bed and found the iPod. Sam went under and came out with the beat-up speaker.
"You found these in Mum's room? Imagine what else we could find!" Sam said.
"Yeah, but Papa hit me when he saw me in there."
"He's not in there now! Maybe he left the door unlocked." He stood up and walked out the door.
"Wait! Sam!" I ran after him.
He jiggled Mum's doorknob, but it didn't open.
"Dang it." He said softly.
"There's this one song by this band called Paramore that's amazing." I told him, trying to reach his shoulder.
He was way taller than me, even if I was only 3 years younger than him. He was 21. I was 18.
"What's the song called?" He asked me as we walked back to my room.
"Ignorance."
"Ignorance?"
"Ignorance. It's amazing." I scrolled down on the weird circle plate on the rectangular iPod until I got to the song.
I pressed play and the second she started singing, Sam started dancing.
"OH MY GOD, THIS IS AMAZING, SARA!" He shouted, jumping up and down.
