Sara

It's been weeks. The boys took me in, and have been taking care of me. They gave me the guest bedroom, and we went shopping for furniture. They got me a big white bed with the softest pillows I have ever laid my head on. They painted the walls and drew lots of doodles and put up pictures of the things we'd been doing for the past few weeks. The pictures and doodles always catch my attention and make me smile.

We've gone to the movies several times, to the park, I watched them do some gigs around the country as they went on a small 2 week tour.

It's still very hard not to remember the past, but it always finds a way to haunt me. I was watching the news once, when I saw they were talking about me and May and Papa. About how he was sent to prison for 20 years, and May hasn't been found yet. It made me feel weird inside. Almost guilty.

"Hey, Sara?" Calum asked, walking in the room.

"Yeah?" I asked, sitting up in my bed.

"Pizza's here." He said, smiling widely.

"Ooh! I'll be down in a second." I said.

He nodded and left the room. I quickly stood up and closed the door behind him. I changed into a pair of sweatpants and put the shorts I was using in the hamper. It was quite hot in my room, but very chilly downstairs.

I walked out my room and down the hall. Their flat was the biggest one in the neighborhood. I walked down the stairs, tripping on the last one. Luke saw as he was walking out the kitchen, and ran towards me. He caught me, and helped me stand up.

"Thanks." I said, my heart racing as I stood up straight.

"No problem." He said, smiling at me.

We both walked down the hall and into the dining room, where the others were already into their food. Luke stole piece of pepperoni from Michael and placed a piece of pepperoni on his own face. I giggled as he sat down and ate the pepperoni off his face. I took a slice of pepperoni pizza from the box and placed it on a plate. We all ate until there was only one slice left.

"DIBS!" Luke called, reaching for the slice.

I quickly stole it, and bit into it before he could try and take it back.

"Hey! I called dibs!" He pouted.

"Oh well." I shrugged as the others laughed at us.

Once we cleaned up, Ashton suggested we'd go to the park. We all agreed and decided we'd go at 3. It was 2:30 p.m.. I went up into my room and spotted Sam's Notebook on my nightstand. I stood in the middle of my room, staring at it.

"Hey, Sara, I-" Michael walked in. "You okay?"

I stood frozen, staring at the book. I didn't remember putting it there. I left it under my pillow. Michael walked up to me, and waved his hand in front of my face.

"Sara?" He asked.

I quickly looked away from the book and at Michael's hand. I grabbed it, and shook it. Michael started laughing.

"What happened?" He asked, still laughing.

"N-Nothing." I told him.

"Oh, well I just wanted to ask you something." He said, staring at his hand which I was holding.

"Yeah?" I asked, letting go of his hand.

"So, the other day I saw Luke jump out the window, and run down the street. I didn't go to follow him, though. He came back 3 hours later. I just wanted to ask if you knew anything about that?" He explained.

"He jumped out the window? Did he land safely?" I asked, feeling my heart race.

"Yeah. But do you know where he could be going?" Michael asked again.

"No. Did you ask him yet?" I asked him.

"No." He sighed.

We stood silently for a few seconds until he sighed again.

"I should go ask him." He said, starting to walk away.

"Uh, okay." I said.

He walked out the room and shut the door behind him. I sighed, and ran a hand through my knotty hair. It's super long now, and very frizzy. I haven't washed in forever. Well, that one time when I got mud in my hair and Luke let me borrow his shampoo doesn't count.

I walked over to my dresser and picked up my brush. I started brushing my hair, carefully going through all the knots. Just as I went through another knot, I remembered how Mum always made sure it didn't hurt when she brushed my hair, and how she'd put some fancy hair spray- that smelled so good- afterwards.

She'd always put a little clip or bow on my hair and spin me around. Sam would come in and laugh at us. Mum would brush his long hair, and put it in a ponytail on the top of his head for fun. She'd take it off afterwards, but it was always funny.

I walked up to my mirror, and spun around. My hair bounced as I spun slowly, analyzing every part of myself. I smiled, and closed my eyes. Mum's face appeared, and she smiled at me.

"Your hair is so long."

My eyes flew open and I jumped when I saw Luke standing next to me.

"Oh my god, Luke you scared me." I sighed, putting a hand on my chest.

My heart was racing. Luke laughed.

"Sorry. Didn't mean to." He said, touching my hair. "It's so long."

"I know." I sighed, looking down at it.

I looked back up to the mirror and saw it reached my waist. I have to cut it.

"What time is it?" I asked.

"Huh? Oh, it's 2:50."

"WHAT?!" I pushed him out the door and ran to my closet.

I opened it up and grabbed the first top I saw, along with a pair of black skinny jeans. I put them on, and put on my grey converse. I quickly ran out my room, past Luke, who was waiting outside the door and into Calum's room.

Thankfully, no one was in there. I quickly took a pair of his 'nerd' glasses and ran out. I loved his glasses- all of them. I ran into Luke's room, which no one was in as well and took some of his bracelets. I ran out the door and downstairs where everyone was waiting for me.

"Sorry, I-"

"It's fine." Ashton cut me off, smiling sympathetically.

I sighed in relief as they all smiled.

"Nice shirt." Michael pointed at my shirt.

I looked down at it and saw it was the one Luke had gotten me. It said "I'm with the band". I laughed.

"Nice glasses." Calum said, pushing the glasses up the bridge of my nose.

"I know! They're so pretty." I said sarcastically.

"Haha." He said, walking out the door.

Ashton and Michael followed.

"Are you taking everyone's stuff?" Luke asked, taking one of the bracelets off my arm.

"Sorry, it's just your bracelets are so nice. And so are Calum's glasses." I said, smiling at the bracelets.

My favorite one was the black and red beaded one. It was so pretty.

"It's fine, they look good on your arm." He laughed.

I smiled back, and walked out the door.
