"Which way did they go?" I asked.

"That way!" Calum said, pointing to the left of the street.

We all ran up the street, getting tired quickly. We eventually started to walk, and slow down.

"I wasn't made for running." Michael said, out of breath.

"Guys! Come on." Ashton said from ahead. "I see them!"

We ran some more until we stood in front of a coffee shop.

"They're in there." Ashton pointed at two girls in the shop.

There was a girl wearing all black and Sara, talking to each other. Sara looked terrified, but the girl in all black looked calm, tugging strands of hair behind her ear. We walked into the shop and Sara spotted us.

"Sara! Where have you been!" I asked, hugging her tightly.

She didn't hug me back.

"Uh." She said as I let go, but holding her arms.

"We were going to see you but the secretary said your father came to get you. Did he? Are you hurt?" I asked her.

The others were getting coffee, since it was about 3 in the morning. I noticed that Sara was slightly annoyed by me. Her red hair was frizzy, sticking up everywhere. You could see where the needles were, the holes bled a bit. Her skin was white as snow, her blue veins popping out.

"Um." She stuttered, looking behind me.

I turned around to see the girl wearing all black. She gave me a hard look and pulled up the zipper of her jacket. It's too hot to be wearing a jacket, Miss. Her jet black eyes seemed to be looking straight through me, staring deep into my soul. Tilting her head a bit, she squinted her eyes at me, seeming to be confused.

"Hello." I said, holding out my hand. "I'm Luke."

"Hey." She said, shaking my hand.

I smiled. She just looked at Sara. She let go of my hand and yelled, "Come on!" She and Sara ran out the coffee shop. I ran after them, getting a bit tired. They slowed down too, only because Sara was tugging on the girl's arm.

"WAIT! SARA!" I yelled.

She looked back, with tears in her eyes.

 Why was she crying?

"GO AWAY!" Sara yelled back.

I stopped, startled. Sara and the girl stopped, staring back at me. Walking up to me, I could see Sara was shaking. I didn't understand why she just yelled at me. Sure, I just met her, but she was running away with a stranger!

"I-I-" I stuttered. "W-Why?"

"Because." She said, walking up to me.

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she frowned at me.

"What did I do wrong?" I asked her.

I gently grabbed her hands, looking straight into her eyes. The other girl was standing far away from us, waiting for Sara. She was still staring straight at me, a confused expression on her face. Her black eyes glittered in the moonlight, her stick-straight hair flying around in the wind.

"It's not your fault. It's just, I don't-" She said. "I don't want to get hurt."

"We won't hurt you!" I said louder than I wanted to.

She flinched and backed up.

"I'm sorry." I said, trying to get closer to her.

"No." She said backing up more.

Tears were falling down her cheeks. I looked straight at her. Her chocolate brown eyes held sadness, her red hair matted to her forehead with sweat from running. She started crying, staring up at me.

"I'm sorry." She said, walking backwards.

"Wait. Sara, please. We can help you!" I said, walking up to her.

She turned around and ran up to the other girl. The girl told her something that made Sara flinch, and they both ran off. I didn't notice the others behind me. I didn't notice I was crying onto Ashton's shoulder, either. I wanted to help her. I didn't want to hurt her.

Why does she think we want to hurt her?

Is it because I speak loudly?

Is it because of her father?

Why won't she let us help her?
