Luke

I couldn't stop crying.

She looked like she had died and came back to life- like a zombie. Her face was so cold, so were her hands. There were countless bruises, cuts, patches of peeled off skin, bite marks, bandages and casts on her body. Her hair had to be shaved off because most of it was already pulled off.

When she opened her eyes and said my name, I broke.

My heart shattered into little, tiny pieces that I'd never be able to put together.

I couldn't look at her anymore. I couldn't look at what I'd done.

I ran out the room, Ashton chasing me.

I ran down the halls and jumped into the elevator right before the door closed. Ashton tried to squeeze in but didn't make it. I pressed my back against the wall and slid down to the floor. I started crying into my arms.

"Are you alright?"

I looked up with blurry vision to see a very tall girl with short blue hair. She quickly pressed the 'Stop' button and the elevator stopped going up. She knelt down beside me and soothingly rubbed my back. I kept crying into my arms until there were no more tears.

"You okay now?" She asked.

I silently shrugged my shoulders.

"What happened?" She asked.

"I almost lost her." I said, my voice cracking.

"It's okay. She's alive isn't she?"

"Barely. She's hanging on a thread."

"It's going to be okay."

"But what if she doesn't love me anymore? I'm not even sure if she loved me in the first place."

She looked at me with a confused face.

"You love her?"

"Yeah."

"Sara? Sara Charleston?"

"Look, I know I shouldn't have bet on anything but I was being stupid. Plus, I was angry at who made the bet."

"Look, dude. If I were Sara I'd be pretty mad at you. But she'd also probably say it's okay 'cos she's nice like that."

"How do you know?"

"I was a friend of hers."

"Really?"

"I'm Jess."
