Kazuha's POV

By the time we were ready to leave, it was pretty late. The rest of my friends had left. I was about to leave when I heard a voice.

'H-huh? You can't make it? O-oh. No, it's ok. I'll figure something out. It's ok, really it is.'

I looked to see Yuki on the phone. She seemed a bit worried. She sighed as she got off her phone.

'Hey.' I said awkwardly. She flinched in surprise. 'O-Oh, sorry, my bad. Didn't mean to scare you.'

I sent an apologetic smile and looked away nervously. Shit...what is with me today? I sighed to myself.

'Youre ok.' she said, smiling at me a bit. 'It's just late, and I'm a bit sensitive to sound.'

'O-oh, I'm so sorry! I-I didn't mean to talk so loudly, aha.' I said nervously, rubbing the back of my neck

She smiled

'No, you're good. Actually, you're one of the few people who talks pretty softly compared to my other friends.'

'Oh, that's great...so you have a ride? You seemed kinda worried and stressed earlier, and I d-' I said, but then I realized that I sounded like a creep. 'I swear I didn't hear it on purpose! I'm not that type of guy!'

She smiled, waving me off.

'Oh yeah...my ride just is too busy to pick me up. So I guess I need to find another way home. Probably the train...or the bus.' Her voice trailed off.

'Hey, I can drop you home if you'd like. I know that public transport at this hour is full of perverts. I can call my friend if you're not comfortable with a guy dropping you off. She's a detective and can pretty much kick anyone's ass.'

'O-oh.' she said with a slight blush

'Lemme just call her.'

I dialed (Y/n)'s number. Before you say anything...no, she isn't asleep. This girl thrives on coffee and is practically an owl. Is it unhealthy? Yes. But does she listen to me? No. She picked up soon enough. I don't think she was paying attention cause she was yelling.

"MY CAR! MY FUCKING CAR!"

'Uh...(Y/n)? E-everything ok back there? I wan-'

"Sorry, Kazu...I'm a bit busy right now cause some asshole thought it was a great idea to STEAL MY CAR! NO! I AM NOT TALKING T-FUCK OFF!"

I cut the phone call before she started screaming more curses. I let out a nervous chuckle as I looked at Yuki.

'Aha...my friend seems to be in a bit of a... dilemma right now. She can't make it. I'm still up for dropping you home if you want.'

'O-oh, thank you. I really appreciate it.' she responded with a small smile.

'Always happy to help.' I said with a proud smile, 'Shall we?'

'Oh yes, let's get going.'

(Y/n)'s POV

I sighed after getting out of the shower. I took my gym bag and my car keys out...wait, where are my car keys?! Shit! I can't lose them! Not now! I ran outside to see my car was nowhere to be seen. Was I just carjacked!? Oh my god, someone stole my car! Then I got a phone call from Kazuha. Oh great...the person who I've been trying to avoid. I picked up the call.

'WHERE IS MY CAR!? WHERE IS MY FUCKING CAR!?' I yelled, pulling at my hair

(N/n) e-everything ok back there? I wan-"

Ok (Y/n), calm down. This can't get any worse, can it? You need to keep a level head. Kazu has done nothing wrong. Just stay calm...

'Whoa, whoa there, Princess. You'll wake up everyone while screaming like that.' Heizou's annoying voice said from behind me, 'Did you miss me that much, hmm? That you caused a ruckus to get my attention~.'

Please, not now. I got too distracted, and Kazuha cut the call by then.

Heizou's POV

'I DONT CARE ABOUT YOU, HEIZOU! Some smartass stole my car.,' she yelled, annoyed and distressed

'Oh...' I responded. 'So you don't have a ride, huh?'

She visibly groaned with her fists balling up.

'Oh noooo...I actually have angel wings hidden, and I was just going to soar into the night sky!' she cooed, holding her hands up and having one leg up like a high school girl gushing over a guy.

Then she deadpanned. She looked so dead inside it's kinda sad

'OF COURSE, I DON'T HAVE A RIDE, JACKASS! MY CAR WAS STOLEN!' she said

'I could drop you home if you'd like.'

'I'd rather walk home than tell you where I live!' she said, crossing her arms. 'Urgh, everything has just been going wrong! First, I had to work with you! Then my car gets stolen, and then...I.'

She froze and stopped her sentence, and looked away. She looked conflicted.

'Look (Y/n)...it's pretty late, and we're tired. Let's just set our difference aside for today. Please let me drop you home. You're tired, plus we have work tomorrow.' I tried to reason, 'A truce for today, and then you can go back to "hating" me, hmm?'

'Fine.' she grumbled, 'only this one time.'

I nodded. She sighed as she sat in the passenger seat.

(Y/n)'s POV

The ride to my house was quiet. No one said anything...no one did anything. Heizou did try some small talk earlier, but I didn't respond or pay any attention to him.

This reminded me of my driving lessons with Tomo. Especially when I'd be learning how to drive with him, it would usually end up with an argument.

"(Y/N)! LOOK OUT FOR THAT TREE! ARE YOU BLIND?!"

"I'M TRYING! I-I'M TRYING TO WAIT I-"

"DO BETTER!"

"I'M TRYING!"

Those lessons would often end in frustrated tears and apologies. I would refuse to talk to him for the rest of the day, but he still got me to talk after millions of apologies.

"Sorry (N/n)...I was a bit too harsh back there. I never meant to yell. You did good today, ok?"

C'mon (Y/n)! Now isn't the time to cry! You have to be strong!

Heizou's POV

I looked (Y/n) from the corner of my eyes. She seemed to be lost in a memory. Her (e/c) eyes were...distant and glassy. It looked as though she was going to cry. I bet she's thinking about Tomo...she did seem pretty choked up and surprised when I pointed him out in the pictures. She sniffled.

'(Y/n)?' I asked. 'You ok?'

Her eyes widened

'O-oh, would you look at that? W-We've reached!' she said, avoiding my question. 'Thanks again...for the ride.'

'Of course.' I responded, 'Anytime.'

'Get home safely, ok?' she said one last time

'See you at work.'

'Yeah...see you at work.'

(Y/n)'s POV

Once Heizou left, I felt something drip down my face...they were tears. Why won't they stop? Please! Stop! I have to break ties with these memories...the old Tomo...is gone.
