Heizou's POV

'Good job Heizou. You're perfect "Get Help." material.' (Y/n) cooed, patting my head

'Well, you owe me one.' I said grumpily

'Lunch is on me.' she responded as she helped me up

'You know, Princess, you'll be the death of me someday.'

'But you still love me, don't you~.' she said, smirking

I smiled. Yes...I still love you. I didn't respond to her comment. I don't want to say this out loud and especially right now. In front of a bunch of unconscious goons. In an illegal human experimenting center.

'What, no cheeky comeback?' she asked.

'Don't want to make you blush here, Princess. Can't have you distracted.' I responded, and she rolled her eyes

Our attention was caught by the groaning of one of the guards. Our expressions immediately became serious. (Y/n) and I stared at the knocked-out guards. I held some rope I found nearby.

'Let's tie them up.' I said

'Man, I think I just shit myself.' one of the guards said, looking at us with a scared expression.

We both stared at him awkwardly.

'I said that out loud, didn't I?'

I nodded, and he sighed.

'Well, if it makes you feel any better, I can knock you out.' she responded without giving him a chance to respond.

She quickly knocked him out, and I cringed.

'Yikes, Princess, that's definitely going to leave a mark.'

'Kinda the point.' she said calmly, 'I mean working here at your own will even though you know the stuff that goes on here. Utterly disgusting.'

'Can't blame you there.' I responded as I helped her tie the others up and put them in the closet.

'Never thought I'd do this before.' she said, chuckling

'Well, working with me is always an adventure. That's why everyone wants to work with the one and only Shikanion Heizou.' I said smirking

'Riiiiggghhhttt.' she responded, smiling a bit

'Now let's find that lab.'

I nodded as we made our way to the door. There was a keypad. We needed a password and fast!

'What do you think the password could be?'

'Maybe an experiment number?' I proposed

'We could try that.' she responded and typed in Regina's number, which was given in the file we found in the box earlier.

"Access denied"

'Shit...what else could we try.' she began when her eyes brightened, and she snapped her fingers. 'Homer's Odyssey, Books V, I, and VII.'

'What?' I asked, confused

'C'mon Heizou! Didn't you pay attention in ninth grade when we read the Odyssey?'

'Not really.' I responded embarrassed

I never liked the Odyssey. It was dumb and about a creepy guy sleeping with multiple ladies.  (Y/n) sighed.

'Can't blame you there. Alright, lemme catch you up. Calypso was mentioned in those books of the Odyssey. Plus, Calypso kept Odysseus with her for seven years. So...5...1...7...7!'

She slowly typed the numbers into the keypad, and the pad turned green.

"Access granted"

'How did you guess that?'

She chuckled a bit.

'Well, our doctor here seems to be obsessed with Greek mythology. Naming his projects based on stories with similar premises that he does with each project. Take Pandora, for example...she opened a box which led to humanity's downfall.'

I chuckled a bit.

'Well, you're one observant girl Princess.' I said, crossing my arms

'I didn't become a detective for nothing, Master Detective.' she said, smirking

I sighed, smiling a bit.

(Y/n)'s POV

We made our way inside the facility. Immediately the surroundings changed, and there was a much darker aura. Blood was spattered across the floor in various places. Broken and rusted chains with old and used surgical equipment were scattered around. I felt the hair on the back of my neck raises. There was a smell of metallic blood and other sorts of drugs in the air. Then all of a sudden, the silence came to an end...we heard a blood-curdling scream. My blood ran cold.

"NO! I DON'T WANNA GO! NO STOP!" the woman's voice sounded

My heart rate spiked, and I felt...scared. I know this was a horrible thing already, but it really sinks in when you're there. Seeing and hearing it for yourself has a whole different experience. A whole new meaning. I felt Heizou take my hand.

'I've got your back, ok. We're going to get through this fucked up place together. No one is going to be left behind.' he said, looking into my eyes and giving my hand a light squeeze.

Having Heizou here made me feel safer and more secure. If I was alone, I don't know what I'd do, but knowing the fact that I have my partner by my side makes this way easier to bear. We made our way through until we found a door labeled #1922

'That's Regina's number, right?' I whispered

He nodded in response. We slowly made our way in when a woman screamed at us and charged. She had a syringe in her hand. She looked crazed. She screeched as she pounced on me. She tried to stab me with the syringe. I struggled a bit against her, but Heizou smack her away. He was gentle, though. It was like a shove.

'I hate hurting women.' he said, sighing. 'Even the bad ones.'

The woman was too weak to get up. Our eyes adjusted to the dark and saw that it was Regina. She was barely recognizable. She was battered and bruised. She had weird growths on her body which were covered in bandages. It was sickening, to be honest. Regina shook as she looked up at us. Her eyes weren't dead or malicious anymore. They looked scared and human.

'No! I don't want to go! Please!' she begged

My eyes widened, and I took off my disguise.

'W-wait, you're not Dr. Fransisca or Dr. Tortinelli.'

We shook our heads.

'No, Regina. I'm Detective (Y/n), and this is Detective Heizou.' I said calmly, 'We're here to help.'

'N-No, you're law enforcement! H-He'll find you! A-and then he'll hurt me.'

'Who?'

'I-Ill Dottore. The fucked up psycho who brought us all here.' she whimpered.

'Ok, ok, we're here to help you. No one's gonna hurt you, ok you're gonna be fine. Now tell us how you got here.' Heizou said

Heizou's POV

'I never meant to hurt them. I-I'm sorry. I swear I only wanted to help my mom.' she said weeping.

'Hey, it's ok. You're going to be ok. Just tell us all that happened.' (Y/n) said

Her eyes were soft and gentle. She spoke to Regina in the kindest voice possible. If I hadn't known (Y/n) since we were kids, I would barely recognize this side of her. Sure, (Y/n) is this headstrong and chaotic girl, but she's a really good and kind person who wants to help everyone.
