Kazuha's POV

I came to work early again. I noticed a few files scattered in the mailbox. That's strange. Where did these come from? I looked at one of my colleagues.

'Hey, Akira...what are these?' I asked him with a raised eyebrow

He shrugged

'It's an anonymous tip about the story you're reporting. The dude said only you're supposed to open it.'

'Me? Why? Do you know what this man looked like?'

'Well, the dude was like really fast. Just went in and out, but he was pretty tall. Purple eyes, I think.'

'Oooookkkkk.' I said uncertainly

I entered my office and opened the package. My eyes sparkled at the sight of their contents. There was so much information about the case. There were pictures of Tomo too! This was perfect! I could find my brother faster, and I have an excuse to do it! Yuki entered the room with some coffee in her hands. She passed one over to me.

'Good morning.' she responded, smiling

'Good Morning Yuki!' I said, beaming at her, and she giggled in response

'Someone's in a good mood today. Did your chat with (Y/n) go well?' she asked brightly

Shit. I didn't call (Y/n)...but it's not like I care or anything. I sighed. Why can't the world stop bringing her up? She messed up...but why do I feel guilty deep within.

'Yup!' I lied with a fake smile. 'The chat went real good!'

'It's really early in the morning to lie, Kazu.' she said nonchalantly while coming next to me.

'Fine, you caught me! I forgot.'

She sighed, shaking her head.

'Fine, you get away this time. Call her tonight, ok! Now what was so exciting that you're smiling so much.'

'Yuki, look at this!' I said in excitement, showing her the package. 'It's so much information about our story! I-It has so much information that it's perfect! We even have a location to go to!'

'I don't know, Kazu...doesn't it feel a bit too easy?' she asked uncertainly

'What do you mean?' I asked her, feeling my heart drop

This wasn't supposed to be her reaction. I thought she'd be equally excited.

'I mean, how did this information come out of nowhere, and why now? We've been working on this story for almost two weeks. Don't you think it's strange that all this information is getting thrown at us out of nowhere?'

'Yuki, it's-'

'Kazu, how did you get all of this information?'

'It-It was an anonymous tip.'

'I think we should ask (Y/n) for her input on this...I mean, this is her case.'

'We're not talking to her.' I said darkly

'B-But she's a detective, and she can help us figure this out and tell us if this is a false lead.'

'Yuki, she could lie through teeth for all we know. We aren't asking for her input.'

'Why would she lie to us about this?'

'Seriously, Yuki? She lied to me about my brother being alive! If she could lie about that, then she won't have any problem lying about this.'
