Tomo's POV

I haven't been able to focus or think about anything since that night. Those two young kids lived in my brain rent free. The girl and the boy. Those two seemed so familiar. A part of me just wanted to kidnap at least one of them and interrogate them. Ask them why I might know them. Ask them what happened to me all those years ago before the accident.

The girl seemed to be a good potential victim for me. I mean, I won't harm her or like be a horrible human being and abuse her. I know that kidnapping someone is wrong, but this is important! I just need to know. What happened to me before the accident? Who was I? Why don't I remember anything before that? Why are those two so important to me?

Why is it so unclear? It's just blurry... I sighed. I'd rather not think about that now... The girl....she seems to be wandering alone...Maybe this is my chance. I should approach her carefully. I analyzed the situation.

She's alone...no, weapons on her. Relatively short. This will be easy. I started following her softly.

Kazuha's POV

'We're here.' I said when we reached Yuki's house

She smiled

'Oh, thank you again for dropping me home. I owe you one now.' she said, giggling a bit.

'You don't owe me anything.' I said, smiling. 'It was something a gentleman would do. Chivalry isn't dead yet!'

I Lifted my hand to act as if I was flexing my hands with my nonexistent muscles.

I tried joking and failed miserably. I made this pretty awkward, didn't I? To my surprise, I heard her chuckle a bit. Whoa...she just laughed at my joke! Someone other than Cyno laughed at my jokes! Oh my God!

'Oh, I guess I should get going now.' she said, getting out of the car.

'O-oh yeah.' I responded, 'Get home safe!'

'You too.'

Once she left, I noticed she left a keychain.

'HEY! WAIT! YOU FORGOT SOMETHING!' I yelled, trying to get her attention, but she was out of earshot. I sighed. I guess Yuki and I aren't done interacting yet.

I hope (Y/n)'s ok...she did seem pretty distressed back then. I should call her. She soon enough picked up.

"What's up?" her voice said, but it sounded stressed. This wasn't the agitated distress. This seemed...more darker and more frantic.

'Hey (N/n)...I just wanted to check up to see if you're ok?'

"H-huh? Oh yeah, I'm ok...I'm fine."

'(N/n) You're not lying to me, right?'

"W-what, I would never lie to you! Look, it's getting late, a-and I have work tomorrow, ok...so I'm going to hang up."

'(N/n) Answer the question! Wait!' I said, but she hung up before I could ask her more

Something was going on with her. She wasn't acting like herself. Something was wrong for sure...she was lying to me. (Y/n) and I had made a pact after I lost my brother that we wouldn't keep any secrets from each other or lie or hide anything from each other. She was acting as if she didn't even want to talk to me. I felt hurt. I need to see her tomorrow. She needs to answer me.

(Y/n)'s POV

As I started walking to my apartment. I could tell someone was following me. Then again, I could be paranoid. I quickened my pace, and they did the same. I can't outrun them. I don't want them to think I'm onto them. I suddenly felt a strong hand squeeze my shoulder. My eyes widened, and I was right. Someone was following me, and I wasn't paranoid. Was I going to get mugged? I need to focus! This mugger really needed to learn a lesson. I quickened my pace, and they did the same. I can't outrun them. I don't want them to think I'm onto them.

'Move and you die.' the man's voice said. 'Don't turn around if you value it.'

'You know, buddy...it's kind of stupid to try and mug a police officer.'

'Shut up! Don't act smart.'

'Fine.'

I angrily grabbed his hand, and judo flipped him onto the ground. He had a hood on, but it immediately fell off when he collided with the ground. He groaned in pain.

'WHO ARE YOU!? WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME!' I yelled angrily at him

I got a clear look at his face. He had violet eyes, sandy blonde hair, and a scar over his nose. My eyes widened...wait, that voice. That face...everything. My hands shook as I felt my eyes water. Was that really...

'T-Tomo?' I croaked out with my heart beating fast

My grip faltered for a second. He used this as an opportunity to get out of my grip. He pushed me off of him. I felt myself meet the floor, and my skin burnt from the harsh road's asphalt concrete. I had a few scratches, but I quickly got up.

'Tomo, wait! I don't want to hurt you! Where have you been!? W-What are you doing here?!' I demanded

He didn't answer. I grabbed his hand

'ANSWER ME!' I begged

'I don't have to answer you.' he said roughly while yanking his hand out of my grip.

His eyes were cold and dark. They were nothing like the ones I remembered as a kid. They were harsh. He started retreating into the mist. I was frozen in place from shock. My hands, my legs...my everything was shaky and frozen.

'NO! WAIT!' I screamed, running after him. 'DON'T GO! P-PLEASE TOMO! STOP!'

I ran into the fog, looking around for him.

'Leave me alone...girl.' he said with his voice as cold as ice

I felt tears well in my eyes. I ran. He's here! Right here! I can't let him get away! Not this time! I looked around as the mist cleared. Tomo was gone.

'No...no, no, no, no!' I screeched, looking for him. 'No, I-I can't lose him again. Where did h-why d-'

I felt my phone ring...it was Kazuha. I wanted to decline, but I still picked up.

"(Y/n) just wanted to check on you...you ok?"

'H-huh? Yeah, I am...' I lied, feeling a bit disoriented

"(N/n) You aren't lying to me, right?"

I froze up...I lied again straight to his face...

'I'm not lying...I'm busy.'

I quickly hung up and fell to my knees. I noticed something shiny. I looked to see an old bracelet and a hotel room key. My eyes widened. These must've been Tomo's! The bracelet was the one I had given him on his birthday...this hotel is where I need to go tomorrow...
