Tomo's POV

I was so confused about everything. Why was this happening to me? (N/n) was...scared of me, no, she hated me. All those allegations she made...they had to be false, right? I'd never hurt anyone. Everything was so fuzzy and muddled I didn't know what was real anymore. My head suddenly started to pound. It hurt so badly. My eyes widened at the memory of the accident.

***Flashback***

I decided that today...today I'll quit Pandora. This was my last job. I had enough money for (Y/n)'s birthday gift, a good potential job that provided Kazuha with a good education. I hated Pandora. I hated this job because I felt like a monster. I mean, the innocent people who wanted to do good were mercilessly killed. I was crossing the road when I was going to be hit by a car. I moved out in time.

'WHAT THE FUCK!? WATCH WHERE YOU'RE DRIVING-' I yelled, annoyed

The driver came out of the car.  He had wavy blue hair and pale skin. His eyes were a sinister kind of red.

'Oh, my apologies, sir, I didn't m-' he stopped mid sentence by stabbing a needle into my neck.

I struggled in his grip, but my moves became sluggish. My body seemed to shut down. Before I lost consciousness, I heard the man speak up again.

'I never told you that you had a choice. You can never leave Pandora...it's you come home to Calypso Tomodachi. Rest a bit...the pain is awaiting.' he whispered in my ears.

After a while, I woke up in a hospital bed. It didn't look like the normal hospital nearby...it seemed like an underground one. I didn't remember what happened prior to the accident, and I made my way to the door of my room, but it was locked.

'HEY, LET ME OUTTA HERE!' I yelled while rattling the doorknob. 'HEY! IS ANYONE THERE!?'

***Flashback***

I felt my body shut down again. I collapsed to the floor and saw one of the officers run in.

'GET A MEDIC!' she screamed as I blacked out.

'Dottore...find Dottore.' I whispered

Heizou's POV

The surgery was a success which was amazing news for me, but then staying in my hospital room all day was boring. I wasn't allowed to do much since they didn't want me to strain my wound too much. The TV wasn't interesting. Nothing but some silly reruns of old shows, which I've seen so many times. I was lonely and in pain, but it was all worth it because I knew (Y/n) was ok.

'You're awake.' I heard a voice interrupt my thoughts.

I turned to see (Y/n). She looked tired but relieved. She had a tray of food in her hands.

'(N/n)?' I said, smiling a bit. 'So you're the one who keeps replacing my old food.'

She smiled and nodded.

'Well, c'mon in, Princess. No need to stand out there all awkward. Care for some lukewarm soup that tastes like water with salt?'

She rolled her eyes and sat on a chair near my bed.

'Well, you look like shit.'

'That's rich coming from you, Princess. So how's the case been going.'

'I might be off the case.' she said, fiddling with her sleeves

'WHAT!? WHY!?'

'I lost my temper when questioning Tomo. I was just so mad at him for hurting Kazu and for hurting you. I literally yanked him by the collar and yelled at him.'

My eyes widened, and I gently held her hand.

'If it makes ya feel better, the Doc said she's gonna discharge me after a few days~. You'll be stuck with me again, Princess.'

She smiled in relief.

'I could really go for some nagging and annoying Master Detectives right about now.'

We laughed a bit. It had been so long since I'd seen her smile and laugh like that.

'Heizou...can I ask you something?' she asked softly

'Sure.'

'Why did you sacrifice yourself for me?' she asked

I gave her a soft smile.

'As I said before, and I don't mind telling you a million times...I love you (Y/n). Now why would I let the girl I love get hurt?'

'Heizou...I love you too. I-I got so scared when you got shot. I realized that moment when you were in my arms that I'd been so hard headed. I've just been in denial for so long...it literally took me the potential chance of losing you to make me realize it.'

My heart started beating like crazy. My ears weren't deceiving me, right? My eyes widened

'D-Did I hear that right?'

She nodded in response. I intertwined my fingers with hers and kissed them gently.

'I love you too, Princess. I'd kiss you, but the doctor said no moving.'

She blushed bright red, and I couldn't help but chuckle.

'You're truly adorable (N/n)~' I teased.

Ayato's POV

Tomodachi had passed out after having a violent seizure. We'd taken him to Doctor Kokomi, our force medical doctor.

'Captain Kamisato.' Kokomi spoke, 'We've got his test results back.'

I nodded in response.

'There are some weird chemicals in his brain which are messing with his nervous system. His violent seizure was because he came in contact with a person of great significance. He had his seizure becuase it trigger memories that are locked away, thus the amnesia.'

'He was last talking to one of my detectives. Detective (L/n) was questioning him before she left.'

'Does he have any next of kin or anyone else of significance?'

'He has a little brother, I think. Kaedehara Kazuha.'

Kokomi nodded.

'I'd advise that he stays away from a jail cell since his medical condition is extremely volatile. He should probably stay with his brother and Detective (L/n)...she's still on the case, right?' she asked me seriously after looking up from her clipboard.

I froze. I kicked her off...looks like she has to come back. I hope she's still willing to come back to work. Heizou is also soon to return to work, so she might come if she has her partner to work with. I'd never expected this case to escalate so far.

'She should be one of the detectives working closely with him. She can help with finding out more information that is currently sealed away. She appears to be a person of significance in Tomodachi's life. Do you have any prior knowledge about their relationship?'

'No, not much.'

'I'd advise you to find that out since it'll help me with my further diagnoses.'
