SS-Chapter 11

"Alright, so let's go over this again. What do we know about this person?" Ominis asked. I pondered his question. "We know she's extremely powerful, She has two acromantulas, and she can control them using music. She also seemed to be able to manipulate the environment, I walked for hours and couldn't seem to find my way out of a forest I had grown up with." 

"Right, but we also outnumber her. If we can separate her from the acromantulas and her ability to control them, we can corner her right?" Sebastian offered, to which I shook my head. "She was an animagus, if we approached her together she would simply try to separate us to get to me. Even if we cornered her, she could simply shift and get away.

 We need to think of a proper way to lure her in and catch her..." I trailed off, wracking my brains for an idea. "I do have an idea, but it's not a good one..." Ominis said hesitantly. "What is it?" I asked, but Sebastian intervened.

 "We are not letting her do that, Ominis no! She was almost killed going in alone, we are not sending her in alone as bait!" "But she wouldn't be alone this time! Just listen! If you and I followed after her, we could ensure that she's safe, or at the very least safer. It's risky but how else do you think we can draw that madwoman out? This isn't Hogwarts, we can't just inform the ministry. We need to be smart, and drawing her out into the open is a much safer strategy."

I sat thoughtfully. "I don't think she'll come out into the open. When she first chased me down, she backed off when the sun came out. I think she will want to stay in the shadows, meaning she doesn't want either of you to know she even exists. Her last words to me were that no one would believe me, so If we want her to show herself, it'll have to be in her territory.

 Ominis is right, I need to appear alone. However I need you both as backup, to hopefully distract the spiders if you can. We'll do the same thing to her as she'd do to us, divide and conquer." "But Darling, that would give her ample opportunity to curse you or even kill you! We can't take that chance!" Sebastian looked at me worriedly, but I smiled. 

"We can't have her looming over us all summer. Here's what we can do, send an owl to the ministry or even professor Sharp, letting him know what's going on. If we can catch her, then we can hand her off to the authorities and we'll be safe." I crossed my fingers together tightly in my lap. 

I was horrified of this plan, and wanted nothing more than to just stay inside and ignore that witch until we went back to Hogwarts, but I couldn't stand the thought of the boys being locked up in the house unable to enjoy themselves just because of me. I inhaled deeply.

 "She comes out more at night, and you two will be better hidden in the dark. Give me another day to rest, then we'll go." Ominis put a hand on my back, smiling, but I could tell from his expression he was more troubled than he was saying. "I know it's what we have to do, but sweetheart are you sure you're up for this?" 

"Whether I am or not is irrelevant...I will not let her bully us into staying home all summer just for kicks. I will find out who the hell she is and what she wants." I said, determined to bury my fear. I heard Sebastian sigh, as he pulled me closer and kissed my forehead.

" I'm going to see if your mother needs any help around the house, I can't just sit and do nothing while we wait. If you two need me, give me a call." Sebastian got to his feet, shooting me a small smile before heading back downstairs.

"Darling, I know you're trying to put up a brave front, but you don't need to be with us. I can hear from your voice that you're terrified." I sighed again. "You're right. But I was terrified when facing Rookwood on my own, and Ranrock when he was trying to destroy the school. Sometimes things need to be done, regardless of how they make you feel."

 Ominis took my hand in his, his thumb rubbing mine. "While that is very admirable, you can't be expected to take on all the fear alone. I promise, Sebastian and I will do whatever it takes to ensure your safety." Something about the way he said this made me believe him, as though he would choose to do anything rather than to see me get hurt.

"To be honest with you, I wish I had your courage darling. I in the past have often avoided conflict to keep the peace. However, now that I have had a taste of the life that the three of us could build together, I will do anything to protect that. Tell me, Is there anything I can do to help you feel more prepared for this?"

I pondered his question. "Some wiggenwelds would go a long way, just in case. Otherwise I daresay we're just going to have to play it by ear." He smiled at my expression. "Perhaps I can look through some of our textbooks and find out more on Acromantulas and how to best deal with them. I'll let you rest, I'll be right next door if you need anything." Ominis got to his feet, stretching high before leaving the room.

I slumped back into bed, not really feeling tired but knowing that I needed to take it easy. I crossed my arms, squeezing my eyes tight. I wanted for sleep to come...And waited...And waited. 

Nope. I was too awake. I groaned, rolling to my side. After discussing the plan I was too alert. I got up, feeling a tad wobbly. What could I do? I didn't want to be outside just in case...I know! I'd go and see Nana. I hadn't since we'd been back, I was long overdue for a visit.
