TTT-Chapter 29

As we waited in the champion's tent, I paced back and forth, wringing the bottom of my jumper in my hands. "Would you calm down? The task cannot be that hard!" Alice tried to get me to sit, but I couldn't. Something didn't feel right, and the more that time passed the more sure of it I became. 

"Emmy nothing is going to happen, they will be fine!" Jason tried to reassure me, putting a hand on my shoulder. "You don't know that Jason." I huffed, sitting on a crate with my head in my arms. I needed to get a grip.

"Emmy! Are you in there??" Poppy's voice came as a shock, as she came flying into the tent. "Poppy? What is it?" "They're gone! They were just in the stand near Amit and they just disappeared!" I got to my feet, my heart pounding as though I was about to have a panic attack.

"Does Anne know?" "Yes, Poppy came and got me before coming to you." Anne stepped in behind her. I clutched my wand, trying to calm my shaking hands. "I have to go and find them. Jason, Anne, talk to Professor Weasley and stall, stall for as much time as you can!" "Ok Emmy, hurry!" Anne said before I dashed out of the tent.

 This time we were in a field in the countryside in the Hogwarts valley, the field surrounded by cliffs. Before us looked to have another Vivarium, so we couldn't really see what was inside again. It didn't matter. I hailed my broom, taking to the skies as I searched the ground below.

I searched the empty fields decorated with trees that did nothing but obscure my view, I was becoming frustrated. Below, a bit further off, I could see Ominis being led by Sebastian, following Ominis' parents. "Ominis! Sebastian!" I cried. 

Ominis' father turned toward me, casting wildly. I dodged the first one, the second spell sending me flying to the ground. Screaming, I rolled, landing on my side as I felt the wind knocked from me. Coughing, I struggled to get back onto my feet. 

I'd have to follow on foot if I didn't want to be knocked off again. With a groan, I gritted my teeth and got to my feet once again. I shook my head, trying to rid myself of the dizziness that was now plaguing my senses as I took off running in the direction I had seen them heading.

 As I ran, I allowed my anger to fuel my movements, pushing me to go faster until I reached a cliff. I could feel my fear freezing me in place, my nerves replacing the red-hot fury with icy petrification. I looked down, I could see them getting away! 

I whistled for Highwing, looking around for her desperately. I couldn't see her anywhere! I looked down again, seeing the small group getting further and further away! I gripped my wand tightly, giving my arm a shake as I tried to give myself confidence in what I was about to do.

 It had worked with the kelpie, in theory, it should work here...right? I gritted my teeth, taking a couple of steps back before leaping the cliff. I felt the air rushing past me, time seemed to slow as the ground approached with dangerous speed. I gasped, trying to steady myself.

"BOMBARDA!" I cried, both in fear for my life and sheer desperation. As the spell pushed me back up from the ground, I felt like a rag doll being thrown through the air. I let out a scream, before landing clumsily on Highwings back. 

I choked out a cry of relief, grasping her feathers desperately. Thank Merlin!! " Good girl highwing!" I managed to gasp out, guiding her toward the small group. I kept my mouth shut this time, letting Highwing land before sending her off again. I didn't want to put her in danger.

 As I approached, the group turned to face me. I cast a stunning charm on Rionach, as he fell to the ground before he could cast an arguably more harmful spell on me. Josephina glared at me, before casting accio to snatch away my wand. I raised my hands, watching her every move.

"Ominis, are you alright?" "Emily? Is that you? Y-Yes, we are ok. My parents have used the Imperius curse on Sebastian, so at the moment he is doing their bidding. I didn't want to fight back in case he got hurt." I nodded, taking a breath to calm myself.

"What do you want Josephina?" She laughed, as though what I had asked was the funniest thing in the world. "I want my son to marry someone that is actually worthy of him, and to do as he was told." Her voice was sickly sweet, but had an edge to it, as though she were trying to cut me with her words. 

"You cannot force him to be someone he doesn't want to be!" "why not? My darling baby has lost his way ever since he started hanging around a filthy mudblood like you, talking about not using our curses to get things done. It is our birthright to be able to do so! 

And if you think we would ever allow our son to lower himself to your level in the dirt, then you've got another thing coming dear. Don't act so high and mighty, I really should destroy this useless stick, as you're not worthy of it." she handed my wand to Sebastian, before looking back at me with a glare.

 "You don't know what you're talking about Mother." Ominis snapped before he was shut up by a slap to the face by Josephina. I felt my blood beginning to boil, as I clenched my hands into fists. "Y'know what? You're right. I don't need a wand to kick your privileged, arrogant, spoiled arse you selfish rotten cow!" 

I made a beeline for her, and she stepped back in shock at my courage, before shooting some spells my way. I dodged a few, casting protego without my wand for the others. Thank Merlin I knew wandless magic! Thank you Zuri! 

Josephina looked startled, flinging more curses my way. "Get back you savage! You filthy mudblood!" "depulso!" I cast, causing her to fly backward and land on the ground with a thud. She scrambled to get to her feet, but had only gotten to her knees before I stood before her.

"Last chance. Leave Ominis and Sebastian alone." "Never!" I closed my fist, bringing it down on her face so hard that she fell back to the ground, her eyes rolled back into her head as she fell unconscious. "The status of my blood doesn't determine my abilities. Hard work does."

I shook my hand, my knuckles already turning purple. I retrieved my wand from Sebastian, now motionless without Josephina controlling him, casting Incaserus on both of Ominis' parents. Rionach looked at me in a combination of rage and horror. "Filthy Mudblood." he spat. 

I cast Silencio on both of them, shaking my head, before instead turning to Ominis. I wrapped my arms around him, I could feel the two of us shaking. "Y-You came for us..." Ominis managed to get out through sobs, as I shakily patted his back. "I would have NEVER stopped looking for you both. Never." As I took one of Sebastian's hands, he seemed to snap out of his trance. "W-what happened?!" "It's ok...you're safe. But we have to get back, quickly!"
