The Yule Ball was one of Hogwarts' biggest events, one I had almost forgotten about. Anne and I had returned to get a dress, Mr Hill excitedly taking my requests and designs as his top priority. As I slipped into my dress, I had curled my hair into loose ginger ringlets that fell gracefully on my cheeks.

Sabrina has assisted with my makeup, my eyes slightly smokey with winged liner. I didn't do much more than that, but the pale blue eyeshadow complimented the fabric of my glittering midnight blue dress.

It was cut to show my shoulders, hugging my waist then flowing out from my middle, the fabric light and airy. The best part? Every time I moved, the fabric shimmered with what looked like millions of multicoloured stars, all reacting to the light. As I looked in the mirror, I felt like a goddess. Was this really me?

The reflection in the mirror that was smiling nervously seemed to confirm that fact. I twirled slowly, just to see the shimmering again. Oh, the wonders of magic! I slipped my wand into my pocket (an essential for any dress) and went for the final touch.

I slipped on the sapphire necklace that Sebastian and Ominis had gifted me, smiling as the light metal felt cool on my skin. It was the perfect finishing touch. I left my dorm room, making my way to the great hall and ignoring the eyes that turned to me.

I walked confidently, my dress flowing out behind me as I moved. I FELT graceful, which was something I was not accustomed to. As I made it to the final stairway before the great hall, I looked down to see Professor Weasley waiting with the other champions and their dates, along with Sebastian who was listening to her instructions carefully. I smiled, he looked so handsome in his dress robes that were trimmed with emerald green. I could feel butterflies dancing in my stomach, my cheeks warm. Tonight was going to be fun.

I could see Zuri look up, her eyes turning wide as she nudged Seb's arm. He turned to look, his gorgeous brown eyes seeming to light up as his mouth fell open to let out the tiniest gasp. I wasn't sure if he was surprised like I was, but I couldn't help but grin at him.

He shook his head, cantering over to the bottom of the stairs to wait for me, arm ready for me to take. I walked down carefully, determined to not fall down the stairs the one time that I actually felt beautiful. The other champions turned to look at me, their eyes growing wide and I could see Professor Weasley beaming with pride.

I took Sebastian's arm, still a little shorter than him in heels. Professor Weasley called us over. "I take it you know that you are starting the ball with a dance? It's tradition for all champions to do so." "Yes professor, Sebastian and I have been practicing." I stood by her, my cheeks warm from the attention I was receiving. Everyone looked spectacular!

Sebastian gave my hand a squeeze as we got in line to walk in. "You look absolutely exquisite darling." He whispered, the warmth in his tone causing my butterflies to dance in my tummy. "Ready?" Professor Weasley asked, to which we nodded. The doors to the great hall opened, and it was like we had walked into a winter wonderland!

The enchanted ceiling was snowing, the walls were decorated with shades of white mixed with dazzling diamonds. I knew it was an illusion, of course, created by magic, but still, this winter wonderland was beautiful! The hall was mainly open, with tables decorated with Christmas ribbons and banners, the absolutely gigantic tree in the background covered with silver and gold baubles and ribbons.

The room was a marvel! Of course, my attention was drawn back to the crowd of clapping students whose eyes looked us up and down eagerly, keen to see if we were as skilled on the dance floor as we were in the trials. Sebastian lead me into the hall, I could feel my nerves creeping back in. I swallowed hard, I could feel my knees going weak. I hated crowds at the best of times.

"Hey." Sebastian's voice pulled me to look at him. He was grinning with glee, as though he himself had just won a trial. "I won't let you fall. Keep your eyes on me, it's just us." I let out a shaky breath, nodding.

As the music started to play, Sebastian pulled me closer than was probably allowed, wrapping his arm around my torso. We started to move, I matched Sebastian's steps as he began to glide around the dance floor in time to the music, twirling me around and occasionally lifting me off the ground to spin the both of us.

Our movements were synched completely, seeming to enter a trance where we didn't hear the others in the hall, we couldn't see them at all. It was as though they had disappeared, leaving us in our own little world, where time seemed to slow. As the music slowed, Sebastian grinned mischievously, a look i knew all too well.

"Do you trust me?" He asked, to which I nodded. Putting his hands under my arms, he lifted me high to twirl us around again, before performing a semi-dip to the ground. It wasn't as deep as Anne's, but as he lifted me back up, our faces were extremely close.

I was so tempted to kiss him, then and there, but I was not sure what others would think. Sebastian seemed to read my mind, smiling softly. "Later, love." He whispered, stepping back to allow space between us once again. The world returned to normal, the audience around us clapping loudly as I clumsily curtseyed. Oh, what a night!
