Chapter 17

Sebastian held me on his back while Ominis lead the way up the stairs, following my directions as instructed. Upon reaching a tapestry with bright green trolls etched into the fabric, I got them to stop. Sebastian let me down carefully, keeping a hand on the small of my back. 

"Ok, now what?" he asked, confused. I took a breath, willing the room of requirement to open its doors to me. "Merlin's beard!" Sebastian shouted in shock, the door appearing in the wall in front of us. "Was that door always there?" Ominis asked, startled by Sebastian's reaction. 

I snickered. "Gentlemen, welcome to the room of requirement." I leaned on the door, swinging it open and beckoning the boys to follow me. They looked around in wonder at the room, Sebastian's eyes wide and Ominis' wand flitting around for a better look. 

I watched them in adoration. They were so curious! "Oh! Hello!" I heard Deek say from beside me. I smiled down at the house elf. "Hello Deek, I hope you don't mind, I brought some visitors." He grinned up at me. "Oh Deek doesn't mind! As long as they can keep the secret." 

Ominis came back to me, looking speechless. "Where in merlin's name ARE we??" "This is the room of requirement. I've been allowed access in order to keep up with my studies. I have a potion table, herbology pots for all my plants, and vivariums." He looked astonished, going back to exploring the room. 

"Just wait until they see the creatures." I said to Deek, and he grinned. "Do they love creatures as much as you do?" I nodded, making my way in, sitting on a chair by the cauldron. "Hey you two, I can also make the sleeping draught while we're here!" I pulled the lavender seeds from my pocket, using my wand to plant them in a spare pot.

Sebastian approached me. "This place is even more incredible than the undercroft! How could you keep this secret from us for so long??" I laughed. "I couldn't let you in on all my secrets right away! Wheres the fun in that?" he pouted, but I beckoned him closer and kissed his cheek. He blushed, coughing and looking away. 

"One day I'll get used to that..." I got up, wobbling to stand by the cauldron. I put in the ingredients we had, just waiting on the lavender. "Not to seem ungrateful for letting us in on one of your secrets darling, but this doesn't solve our problem of being indoors." Ominis called to me from the other side of the room. 

I smirked. "Alright my loves, tell me. Do you want to go to the mountains, the beach, or the forest?" I wiped my hands on my dress, leaning on my crutches. "Y-..we could go to the beach I guess?" Sebastian asked me, still clearly befuddled. Ominis shrugged.

 "I suppose it doesn't really matter, as long as we're outdoors?" I smiled. "Follow me." I walked up the stairs slowly to the beach Vivarium, opening it's doors, the sound of the sea carrying into the room. "Is that saltwater I can smell?" Ominis asked. 

"That's right. I use these vivariums to look after creatures I've rescued from poachers. I think it's the perfect place to escape to, don't you think?" I put my crutches down by the door, stepping carefully. As long as I didn't weight bear on my leg too much I should be ok.

I held out my hands to them both, taking one each and guiding them inside. We walked through the sand toward the sea, the cliffs around us forming as we got deeper inside. "Merlin's beard!" Sebastian exclaimed again. "You really are full of surprises!" Ominis laughed. 

Sebastian looked at me, before running off toward the water laughing. I wished I could follow. I felt Ominis wrap an arm around my waist, leaning his head on mine. "This is extraordinary darling, and it's perfect for what we have planned." 

while I wasn't sure what they were going to do, I tugged on his arm. "I want to go to the water, can we go closer?" He nodded, taking my arm and helping me to walk toward Sebastian, who had taken off his shoes and rolled up his pants to waddle in the shallows. "This is amazing! Can we come here more often??" he asked giddily. I giggled. "Sure, just never without me ok?" "I wouldn't dream of it darling."
