"They ripped Jackson's heart out of the ground." Alex said, looking at the broken sapling.
"It was the only piece of him we had left." Hayley said sadly. Nobody answered. Every single Mikaelson there understood now that no one was safe, not even the dead and buried.
Hayley slid her hand into the girl's. The Strix will pay for this, life by life by life.

Klaus whittled a new chess piece as Méalla sat and watched the fire.
"Practicing your torture techniques, Niklaus?" Freya said lightly. Méalla turned her head and saw her older sister standing in the door frame.
Klaus raises the chess piece. "Clearing my mind. Some children cuddle with a blanket. Mine loves her chess piece."
Méalla let out a laugh.
"Aren't you full of surprises?" Freya smiled at Klaus.
Klaus looked up at Freya with a knowing look. "You're surprised I came for you."
Freya looked slightly embarrassed and sheepish but Klaus stand up to squeeze her shoulders.
"You are my sister Freya. And you are a part of this family. Always and forever."
Freya smiled at her brother, her face a little softer.
"Do you know, I never thought I'd hear myself say but I wholeheartedly agree with Niklaus." Elijah joined them, smiling at his siblings.
"You may all be pains in the ass but you're my pains in the ass!" Méalla quipped to her siblings. Freya laughed.
Elijah walked over to the bar, and poured them all drinks.
"So what's going to be our next move?  Aurora has more white oak and she's not going to stay quiet for long."
"Aurora's not the only problem."
"Yes it seems there is no shortage of those who would stand against our family."
"And they wonder why we're bitches sometimes." Méalla laughed humorlessly.
"Let's kill them all!" Elijah raised his glass.
"Amen!" Méalla and her siblings clink their glasses together before all drinking deeply.

"Méalla! We have to go, now!" Isabel came rushing in to Méalla's room.
"What? What's happening, Iz?" Méalla shot to her feet.
"They're breaking the sire link. One of the Sisters defaulted to me. If they can't find your physical body, they can't break the link!"
"Do the others know?"
"I don't know."
"I have to find them. Right now, the link is our only leverage."
"Méalla, please. I can hide you!" Isabel pleaded.
"I'm sorry Iz. I can't leave them."
"Then I have to do this. I'm sorry too." Isabel vamped over to Méalla and broke her neck.
"Like you said, it's our only leverage. I can't lose you again."

Hayley looked at the unconscious Méalla. She gave a once over to Isabel De Martel standing next to her.
"Are you sure this will work?"
"Praying for it."
Isabel picked up Méalla and started to leave but Hayley hesitantly put a hand on her arm to stop her.
"How is she?"
"Coping."
"And you two are?"
"Undefined." Isabel glanced down to Méalla. Hayley followed her eyes.
"Is she happy?"
"She's as happy as she can be under the circumstances, I believe. She's making the best of it."
"Please don't hurt her. Don't make my mistakes."
Isabel looked at Hayley and nodded. Hayley removed her hand from Isabel's arm and the older vampire took off to an unknown location. Hayley thought her already broken heart couldn't get any worse, but Méalla is moving on, and it feels like Hayley is dying. She feels like she's betraying Jackson by her feelings for Méalla, especially after he died because he loved Hayley and she loved him. The world just keeps getting smaller and smaller around her.
"Where's Isabel taking Mom?" Alex asked from behind her.
"Somewhere they can't find her physical body. Without it, they can't break the link. Supposedly."

Méalla woke up hours later in a cramped room. Isabel was next to her. "I'm really sorry. But I don't regret it, M'ella."
"Is it over?"
"They tried the spell using your and Klaus' bond but I don't think it worked. Only Klaus' link was broken."
"What happened?"
"I broke your neck. Over and over, to keep you down."
"Damn woman. Where are we?"
"An old warehouse I had a witch friend spell. Nobody knows what's in here."
"Thanks Iz." Méalla smiled weakly at the real princess to her fake one. "Can we go home now though?"
"Indeed." Isabel reached a hand out to Méalla and helped her up.

"Hayley killed Aya. I couldn't." Elijah said to Méalla, watching her weave.
"Good. She was always a bitch." Méalla said from her seat on her bed. "I'm sorry I wasn't there to help."
"Isabel did the right thing. Your link remains unbroken, therefore you still have some protection."
"And Aurora?"
"Cask of Amontillado-ed."
"Tristan?"
"Forever to be tormented at the very bottom of the ocean."
"Good."

I don't like this chapter very much because it's not my best writing and very horrible plot wise however, writer's block is a bitch and I needed to move on. Please excuse me.
