It’s been a week since the challenge. Asher is constantly arguing with Nathan to take back his accepting but he refuses. I’ve been training as hard as I can with Hank, Jango and Tony. I was scared if I lost all my pack here would be left behind. I didn’t want to leave them. I stood at my spot watching the pack as they all talked about the upcoming fight. “You don’t have to do this.” I turned seeing Asher. “I do actually the alpha issued the challenge in my name.” he looked to the ground then said “don’t fight him.” I felt a small blush coming to my face. “Ash…” he walked up to me and said “come with me.” he pulled me into the forest.

I watched as my prize and Asher walked into the forest what were they up to. I got up from my seat and followed them into the forest. As we walked Asher stopped her at a tree and she leaned on it. “Ruby you don’t have to fight him.” he stated “how can I get out of it then?” she asked. There was no way out of a challenge… not unless… suddenly everything made sense why he wanted me to stop the challenge, why he was trying to desperately protect her… rage filled my body as I charged at him. “SHE’S MINE!” I roared as I charged. Asher dodged and shifted. Ruby looked between us she didn’t know.

'Asher she’s my mate not yours!’

I growled out once I shifted.

'think again. You hurt her that’s no mate. She’s mine now you lost your claim!'

I roared at him and charged. “ASHER!” she shouted as I tackled him. Asher! She called his name how dare that bitch call another males name. She should only call mine! No other male could have her! Asher swung his claws down on my face as he pushed me off. Ruby ran between us and pushed Asher back she hugged him around his neck and said “stop fighting please..” I growled how dare she touch another male in front of me. I charged baring my teeth she would pay for touching a male. As my teeth were a few inches from her head Asher pushed her down so I took into his hind leg. He howled pain as he stood over my mate.

'you bare your teeth at what you call your mate. A true mate would never harm his beloved!'

Asher stated growled at me he dug his paws and teeth into my neck. I howled out in pain.

'NATHAN!'

I heard Gracie’s voice shout she came running she was a brown and tan wolf. I watched as Ruby shifted before my eyes stood the most rare colored wolf I ever saw. She was red and black with a white under belly. Why did I pick regular over the rare one? I watched as Ruby face off her step sister growling.

'stop it! Just Stop it!'

I growled as she turned to Asher.

'are you ok Ash?'

He looked at me and limped over to her.

'I’ll survive did he get you?'

Ruby shook her head no.

'I’m ok.'

Gracie walked over to holding her tail high like an alpha and asked me the same I didn’t answer as I watched Ruby lick Asher’s wounds like a caring mate. He had his eyes on her with a loving look that just made my blood boil. She was mine! I growled and stood ready to fight. Asher growled back I no longer cared for the challenge. I wanted Asher’s head.

'I release you from the challenge Ruby Hoodly. Asher Hoss your head is mine!'

I stated before I even thought he growled back and I charged he tackled me and we tumbled into the yard. I got back to my feet growling.
