Faith was a good helper for Ruby she made sure Ruby wasn’t doing anything too hard for her that might hurt the baby while I helped with the alpha stuff. I think I might hire Faith to be a permanent baby sitter for us that way I could be able to steal Ruby away once in a while. As I sat in the office next to my pregnant mate we worked on all the paper work she was doing a good job as alpha. “Ruby?” she looked up at me. “we need to think about merging the packs you alpha now of two packs. We need to talk about this.” She nodded and said

“I don’t know what to do I mean both packs are next to each other in territory even if they are six states apart.” Then it hit me. “we could build one really large pack house in the middle and live there.” She smiled and said “one really large pack house Ash?” I shrugged and she said “build two pack houses with a single house in the middle so were still one pack.” That actually was a really good idea. We would live in the middle and the two packs could still have their space. I smiled at her and placed my hand on top of hers.

Ok Ash has been here a month and he hasn’t left my side now don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining but he’s like an over protective dog, if I hold a fork I could get hurt and every day he keeps getting worse since he found out about my pregnancy. Not to mention my mom and dad have been torturing me with baby things. Ugh! I looked down at the small bump in my belly and shook my head.

Did they forget that Jango and Anna could still be alive? I mean just cause I’m alpha now doesn’t mean there completely gone! I sat in my room with a map of my old territory. “babe what are you doing in here?” Asher asked as he walked in. He sat by me and looked at the map. “what’s this?” he asked “it’s a map Asher.” I stated he raised a brow at me and stated “I know what but what is it of?” I looked at him and said “the silver dust pack.” He growled saying “you’re not going anywhere near that place in your condition!”

I sighed and said “Ash you ever see Charmed?” he raised a brow and asked “Charmed as in the witch show?” I nodded and he shrugged “yeah so?” I smiled saying “I’m pregnant piper. Nothing can touch me I’m super mom.” He smirked and said “you don’t got magical powers.” I glared at him saying “Asher. I’m a pregnant shifter with an extra life in my stomach. I think that’s a super power on it’s own.”

He shook his head and said “I don’t care I don’t want you anywhere near Nathan.” I sighed and said “what about Jango and Anna?” he raised a brow and I said “they were taken! We have to get them back.” He sighed and said “Nathan probably killed them by now.” I glared and said “no Nathan likes to play with his food before he eats.” Asher shook his head saying “Ruby…” it was a warning. “Asher….” I used the same tone.

“you’re not going!”

“I am Going!”

We shouted at the same time. He groaned and said “no! I know you can fight and god knows you got a punch but I don’t want to put our baby in danger.” He stated I sighed and said “I can defend myself, I can defend you what makes you think I can’t defend our baby!” suddenly Asher’s phone rang. I waited as he answered it. “HELLO!” he shouted in anger. I smiled and he put it on speaker. “this is Nathan Jotan. I have a friend of yours…”

“Ruby don’t give him anything!” Anna’s voice screamed in the back. “shut up bitch!” *SLAP* I heard I looked at Asher as he held his head. “now then as I was saying “I have a friend of yours. If you want them returned safely you will return what you took from me and pull your scouts away or they will die.” Asher’s eyes widened and I took out my cell and texted Kyle. Then we heard “Ruby Hoodly I want you to come alone to the meadow on the east side. If you do not then Jango Loca dies along with his mate.” “AHHHHH!!!!” I heard Anna’s scream then nothing. “see you soon.” Nathan stated the line went dead. I looked at Asher as he looked deep in thought. I took his hand and said “we have to do something.” He nodded.

~West~

Kyle ran up the hill and showed me his phone. It was a text from the Luna. Retreat now. I read we all moved Derek the beta informed us the alpha and Luna were in the Howler pack since our Luna is also their alpha. Man. Derek was moving all the pack their so we would make our way there. We had no other choice our numbers weren’t as high as Nathan’s anymore. But if the packs got together then we might have a chance.

We ran Kyle shifted and we all did the same as we ran I heard

'isn’t the territory the other way?'

'were not going to our territory were going to Jango’s the alpha’s are there and the packs are merging.'

'oh…'

Was his answer I shook my head and we raced as fast as we could I prayed we would be able to get there before our alpha’s decided to attack.

~Jango~

I struggled against my chains as I saw Anna being assaulted once again. “GET. OFF. MY. MATE!!” I kept repeating those words as I kept pulling at the chains then letting go and slamming my fists out farther. It was loosening the chains on connected to the wall. I growled as the kept up the assault. Anna… tears fell down my eyes as I looked at her lifeless body that bastard. As I pounded against the chains the rogue came down again. He threw them off and said “Enough get up stairs!” they scrambled away. I panted for breath as he looked at Anna I saw his fists clench then let go he looked away and turned to me. His eyes were teary but he held them back.

The pain was unbearable. He walked up to me and said “I’m sorry.” I growled but he still looked genially sad then it hit me. “you hold onto the memory of your own mate?” he nodded and said “I lost her similar to the way you have.” He then pulled out a key from his pocket and said “I didn’t get it in time I’m sorry.” He was trying to help us this whole time. “what’s your name?” he looked at me and said “Oliver.” This male went through what I just did and he survived by becoming rogue. I nodded and said “Jango.” He smirked and said “I know.”

The chains fell from my wrists and he put my arm around his shoulders. “we need to get you out of here. Nathan will kill you next now that your weak.” I nodded and he carried me out. The rogues were nowhere to be seen. “where are they?” I whispered. He smirked and said “they run away when I yell at them.”  We made it out of the house and to the forest. He set me down and said “don’t make a noise until night fall then you should have enough strength for get away.” I nodded and laid there. I watched as Oliver walked to the house.

The rogues from before walked back in happy as can be. “Hey let’s go to our new friend.” One shouted but Oliver shouted “GET YOUR ASSES OUT!!” they ran out of the house and I sighed. Anna… my mate... I looked up to the sky and thought about how much she liked to watch the night sky with me when we started dating. She was so happy…

                “come on Jango!” Anna pulled my arm we just got out of school and she was pulling me through the forest. As I followed this angel we stopped a large meadow. She walked to the middle and laid in the grass. I smirked as she laid there looking at the sky, the sun was just setting. I walked over and sat by her. “Jango do you think will be together forever as mates?” I smiled at her saying

“of course it’s a life bond.” She smiled then said “when I pass away I hope you still remember me.” I smirked and took her hand. “how can I forget you.” She kissed me and said “you’re so weird.” I chuckled and stated “and you’re not?” she laughed saying “no I am.” She laid back down and I joined her. “what do you think happens to us when we pass.” I looked at her then to the stars she was staring at. “for you… you’ll turn into the brightest star for me to look at every night.” She smiled at me and said “you too. I just hope we never forget each other.”

Tears ran down my face as I remembered the meadow. It was the place where we first met, first kissed, and spent most of our time together when we started dating; it was also the place I proposed to her. I will never forget her. Never on my life. I starred up at the sky thinking ‘you’re a star now Anna. Shine brightly for me.'
