I laid by my mate as she slept away, our legs were tangles in the sheets. I smiled down at her and smiled. She was so pretty. I ran my hand across her cheek and down her arm. She moaned and turned onto her side. I smirked and played with a strand of her hair. She smiled in her sleep and cuddled closer into me. I stopped playing with  her hair and u pulled her closer against me.

I sat in the study waiting for my alpha and Luna to return. I had to wait a week since they’ve been gone. I needed to go find them I needed to get in contact with Ruby. I sat there starring at the phone as I am beta I left a message that’s what beta’s do. I need to get the new Alpha I was giving Jango and Anna two more days before I would announce Ruby as the new alpha. I had to wait and pray.

Brook walked in and kissed my cheek. “you ok?” she asked I nodded and said “just waiting on a call.” She smiled and rubbed my shoulders “baby I have a question.” I nodded for her to continue “where have Jango and Anna gone?” I looked up at my mate and I knew I had to lie. “they went on a trip.” It wasn’t a complete lie but I had to keep it a secret where they went until the new alpha at least.

I walked down stairs as Asher was in his office once again. I sat on the couch and sighed. Lately I haven’t been feeling good my stomach has been upset a lot. I’m trying to hide it from Asher but he can tell I don’t feel good with our mating bond. I turned on the tv and flicked through the channels. I needed to clear my mind. Layla walked into the living room and said “Luna Ruby I have a message from a Beta Greystone.” I looked up and stated “go on.” She walked up to me and handed me a piece of paper then she left.

I looked at the paper and opened it. Before I got to read it Sam ran in and grabbed my arm pulling me along. Up stairs. “Sam let go.” I stated my stomach was jumping around. She didn’t listen. “SAM!” she let go and I ran into my and Asher’s room as I ran in and down into the bathroom. I shut the door behind me and opened the toilet. My head was in that toilet for what felt like an hour. As I whipped my mouth I flushed the toilet.

Then I washed my mouth out at the sink, I stood up straight and at myself in the mirror I wasn’t pale… how could I be sick. I shook my head and walked into the bed room and headed up stairs. As I sat on the couch in the living room of our room, as I sat there I held my knees to my chest I haven’t been feeling good for a few days hopefully it will pass soon. I hate being sick. I leaned my head back then heard a faint knock.

I turned to the door and said “come in.” Sam walked in and looked at me. “are you alright Ruby?” I nodded and she smiled at me. “sorry about before.” I shrugged and said “I’m a little sick but don’t tell Asher. Ok?” she walked over and sat by me. “what’s wrong?” I shrugged and said “my head and stomach but don’t worry it will pass.” She nodded and then Tony walked in and handed Sam a glass of water. “here ya go love.” She kissed him and then looked at me with a smile. She knew what she was doing.

I sat in my office with Derek and my father as we talked about what we should do about Nathan’s rise with Rogues. So far he hasn’t attacked but the number of rogues entering the place was enough to cause trouble at any moment. He could attack any pack not ready and kill them.  Got up and started to pace. “any work from Jango?” I asked Derek shook his head no. I sighed and looked to my father. “where could he be?” I asked “we don’t know Hank hasn’t answered that question all he says is he needs to talk with Ruby.” I looked at Derek. “Ruby?” he nodded. Why would be need to talk with her? What did Ruby have to do with any of this?

I walked along the path and looked around it was strange I had the sense that something was coming something big. I needed to keep Heather safe I needed to move on. It’s a rogues nature to move constantly it would cause problems otherwise. I looked around and saw many wolves looked calm they didn’t sense a power shift like I do. Rogues can sense things like when a side in a big upcoming war had the upper hand and where to run to get to a safe place. Rogues were wild as am I. I’ve been a rogue for twenty three years.

I’m twenty five and I haven’t known a pack for so long I know what it’s like to be together. I felt a shiver go down my spine once again. It was a power surge. Rogues have it to stay safe and on edge. I looked around seeing if the power was near but it wasn’t, something changed in this fight to come. Something big. I needed to leave whatever changed affected this place. I walked back to the home where Heather was.

“we need to go.” I stated she looked at me from the kitchen where she was. “what?” she asked. “something has changed it is no longer safe here.” She raised a brow at me and asked “what do you mean? My pack is here along with my beta there is no safer place.” I sighed and walked up to her taking her hands. “Heather… rogues can sense when something changes in a battle it’s why we survive. Now something has changed we have to leave.” She shook her head no. “if something has change you should tell Alpha Asher.” I sighed and looked at her. “who would believe a rogue?” she took my hands saying “I would and I know they will if you tell them.”

Something was off with Ruby she wasn’t being herself it was like she was hiding from us. I walked to the Alpha room and walked in. “Ruby?” I asked then I heard the sound of someone sick. I followed it seeing Ruby with her face in a toilet. “Ruby!” I ran over and held her hair back, she finished puking her guts out then washer her mouth. “are you alright?” I asked she nodded and said “I’m just a little sick.” I nodded and rubbed her back. “I’m sorry I’m not out and about.” I shrugged and said “that’s why I was coming in. I was worried about you.”

She shrugged and said “sorry.” I smiled at my old friend and stated “don’t be. Ruby I was just worried about you.” She nodded and leaned her head on the wall. “I’m just really tired right now.” I helped her to be and said “get some rest ok?” she nodded and laid down. As I headed for the stairs I heard her say “Jenna call Hank he called but I didn’t get to call back please contact him.” I nodded and headed to the stairs once more.

I watched as the rogues around were all defiling the women it was taking everything in me not to go in and start killing. I held back my men as they kept growling as low as possible. Then suddenly two rogues ran in screaming “NATHAN LOOK WHAT WE GOT!” I watched as Nathan walked out of his home and raised a brow then he laughed saying “bring them forward.” I jumped a bit when I saw Alpha Jango and his mate pulled into view. “well now.. Alpha Jango and Anna Loca what do you think you’re doing here?” alpha Jango growled saying “were here to stop this war.” Anna nodded they were strong even though they were beaten up badly Anna was barley seeing through those swollen eyes.

I watched as Nathan punched Alpha Jango in the gut he growled and Anna growled as well “you’re not stronger than me Jango. You never were.” I watched as blood hit the ground from Jango’s mouth. I looked away why… why were they here. Then I heard “where…. Where is my sc-….scout.” his scout? I looked up seeing Nathan laugh he turned and motioned two rogues through the gamma Quinton into the dirt before Jango and Anna. “this one?” Nathan asked with a sneer. I pushed Carter next to me down and kept him from running in.

“Quin..” Jango gasped he looked up he was beaten worse than Jango. “I’m sorry alpha.” He stated Jango shook his head no. “you did well my friend.” Then Jango looked up at Nathan “I will not fight if you let my mate and Quin go.” Nathan smirked and stated “An Alpha for a scout. I can go for that.” Anna growled saying “NO! I will not leave him.” Nathan smirked saying “fine.” He kicked Quin and said “So Go!” Quin struggled and I saw him whisper something then he shifted and limped away. “take these two to the cellar and lock them away.” Jango passed out as they dragged him and Anna away. This had to be reported.
