~Ruby~

I felt like my guts were being thrown into the toilet. I’ve been here for three weeks now and every morning I wake up and empty my guts. I finished and flushed the toilet as soon as it went down the drain I sighed and got to my feet as I washed out my mouth I heard “how long you been pregnant Ruby?” I jumped and spun around to see Faith and Brook. “what? I’m not pregnant.”

They looked at each other which I knew was a bad sign. “Honey you’ve been tired and puking your guts out for three weeks. That’s a sign of pregnancy.” Brook stated I shook my head “that is impossible I’m not pregnant.” I was confident I wasn’t pregnant I mean Ash and I were nowhere near ready for a baby in our lives that and I’m SEVENTEEN even in shifter life that was sold enough it wasn’t for me!

Faith shook her head and said “then prove to us your not. Cause you sure got the symptoms of a pregnant woman.” I sighed and then heard “What?” we turned seeing Hank. He looked so confused. “they think I’m pregnant.” I stated he chuckled and said “oook… um are you?”

he asked at the end I rolled my eyes and said “No.” he raised a brow at me and I stated “I’m not!” Brook walked over to her room and came back with a pregnancy test. “prove it.” She stated and pushed me into the bathroom and shut the door. “and don’t come out till you’ve taken it!” Faith screamed. Hank was laughing on the other side of the door. Ugh!

I know were being kind of mean but she was puking her guts out every morning and she was always tired. That’s a sign of pregnancy I googled it. Not to mention the first couple weeks of pregnancy were the most important and she wasn’t even thinking she was pregnant. Not that Ruby doesn’t take care of herself. I sat on the chair as Brook and Hank took the bed. Its cool knowing your best friends are shifters.

I kind of was upset when they didn’t tell me at first but I understand it I mean I’m human. As we waited I turned to Hank who looked pale. “what’s with him?” Brook turned and asked “baby are you ok?” he shook his head no. “um every wolf fears one thing in life… a pregnant wolf.”

We raised our brows. “why?” we asked he chuckled and said “Well um there more protective… very hostile to any threat, and well fucken scary.” We laughed at that. “really?” I asked he nodded then the door opened. Ruby walked out and said “it’s on the counter weirdo’s.” she went into her closet and I was first in the bathroom.

I didn’t even bother to look at the stupid test or wait for the results. I wasn’t pregnant I couldn’t be. Well I could be but no! I changed into some new clothes then heard screaming and squealing. I walked out fully dressed seeing Hank walk out of the room and Faith jumping around squealing like a little girl.

“What’s your problem!!” I screamed over her squealing. She ran over to me and hugged me saying “congratulations!!!!” I pushed her off and ran into the bathroom. I walked over to the stick as I heard Brook screaming in the back ground. I looked down at the stick. And almost fainted. Oh no.

This was bad very bad. Asher is going to freak out but I knew Ruby she wouldn’t tell him. of course I was scared that Ruby would kill me but Asher needed to know. I grabbed my cell and went outside. I waited for the second ring. Third ring I kept my eyes on the house. No Ruby.

“Hello?” Asher answered the phone thank god. “Asher…” I stated “Hank? What’s up?” he asked. “um you need to get here now.” I stated not sure how to tell a man he was going to be a dad. “what happened! Is Ruby alright?” I sighed and said “she’s fine she’s….”

“HANK!!!” I turned seeing Ruby. “you better not be calling Asher!” she shouted from the doorway. “someone has to your not going to tell him!” I stated and backed up. “give me your phone. Now.” She stated I shook my head no and put the phone in my pocket so Asher would still hear us.

“then whose going to tell him?” I asked I had a good idea it was sneaky but good and I would probably get killed for it later. “not you no one is tell Asher the stupid test could be wrong.” I smirked and said “I don’t think pregnancy test lie.” Ruby stomped her foot saying “I’m not pregnant! I’m seventeen I’m not pregnant!” I chuckled and said “Ruby…” she sighed and said “I don’t know if I can handle a kid Hank. I’m not sure about this. I mean the test said I was pregnant but maybe it was wrong?” I just looked at her and she stated “ok maybe it wasn’t wrong…”

“Ruby.. you’ve been sick since you got here god know how long you actually been throwing up but it’s been weeks that’s a sign of pregnancy.” She sighed and said “alright so I’m pregnant but Asher has enough things to worry about. Don’t call him.” then she turned and walked inside.

I put the phone back to my ear. “Asher?” no answer. “Alpha!!!” I heard Derek shout oh shit. Derek picked up the phone and growled “who is this.” I laughed saying “Derek it’s Hank did he faint?” I asked. “yeah, what you tell him?” he asked at the end. “um just some news.” Then I heard “GET ME A FUCKING FLIGHT!!”

“oh he woke up.” Derek stated. “I hear hey gotta go.” I hung up before Derek said anything. “sorry Ruby.” I whispered with a smile as I walked back into the house. I saw Ruby in the office doing paper work as usual as Brook led Aurora. The doctor and Anna’s mother into the office. She smiled at Ruby and said “I would like to check on your health with the child’s.” Ruby sighed and nodded. Brook shut the door behind her as she left.
