Ruby was so cool! I am so glad my new sister is not a loser like I thought Asher was gonna get. I sat by Ruby talking about everything. She didn’t want to talk about her past which I didn’t get but I told her all about the people around the pack. Asher was in his office talking to the best Beta Female Jenna and Derek. This was great I had two new friends in the pack while they were my brother and his best friend’s mates! Ruby is only a month older than me! She’s my age YES! I always wanted my brother to date a girl younger than him! Now I can tease him even more! I loved teasing my brother. I saw the door open and Asher walk out holding his head.

“hey Asher!” he looked at me and saw Ruby he ran over and asked “what did you tell her?” I smiled and Ruby looked confused. “um what?” Asher sighed and I stated “I didn’t know my twenty year old brother was pedo!” he groaned and said “SAM!” I took off running down the hall. “ASHER’s A PEDO!!!” I screamed at the top of my lungs. I reached dad’s study and dove in hiding under the desk.

Ruby looked so confused “Sam’s point in life is to annoy me to no end.” She nodded then asked “pedo?” I sighed and said “I’m twenty years old Ruby your seventeen. She’s gonna call me a pedophile.” She smiled and said “sorry.” I shrugged and said “yeah it’s what she does. Don’t tell her anything else.” She nodded and I kissed her. “we need to talk.” She got up and followed me into the study. Jenna was sitting in Derek’s lap crying. Poor girl.

“what’s going on?” Ruby asked. Jenna got up and ran into Ruby crying. Not even a second went by for Ruby to hug her back and console her. She was a good Luna. “Jen.. Jenny what’s wrong?” she asked as he rubbed her back. Derek got up saying “everything.” He picked up Jenna and she cried into his shirt. “Ruby Jenna just told us about her old pack and what’s going on over there.” Ruby nodded and sat down. “Ruby your ex-mate… Nathan.” He growled Ruby smiled at me. I smirked and said “he’s not leading a pack right.”

I waited and she nodded to continue. “he’s forcing the woman who find their mates to sleep with him first, he won’t let them have their mates and he threatens to kill the mate if they refuse.” Ruby was in shocked and looked to the ground then at Jenna. “he also abusing his alpha command forcing them all to do as he says. Not in orders for protecting but in stealing and spying on other packs. He’s gone power crazy. He wants you so bad he sees you as power.” Ruby sighed and said “Nathan is stubborn we have to save that pack.”

I nodded. “I know.” Suddenly Sam popped out from under the desk shouting “SIS WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN THROUGH HELL!” I’m gonna kill her. “SAM!” she ran out of the room screaming “DADDY!!!” oh god that girl was going to trouble for any male she mated. Ruby had a few tears running down her cheeks I pulled her against me as she let them fall silently. Dad walked in asking “what’s this about Ruby was in hell?” Sam peeked out from behind him and I glared at her. For a shorty Sam was wicked fast a running.

I looked up at my dad. “have a seat dad.” He sat down and I turned to Sam. “OUT!” she pouted and I pushed her out shutting the door in her face. Pesky brat. I turned to my dad and explained everything. Including Ruby’s past, as I finished I held my mate against me. Dad looked pissed. He was shaking badly. “he does what to those women?” Jenna stopped crying and said “it’s true sir I was a part of that pack.” Dad said “I’ll be right back.” He walked out and Ruby asked “is he going to be ok?” I nodded I knew exactly what he went to do. “WHAT!!!” I heard my mother scream. Then she walked in and looked at Ruby then Jenna. “I’ll kill him myself!” she growled. God mom was always scary when she was pissed.

~Derek~

I held my mate against my chest as she looked at the old Luna. Yeah they were pretty scary when angry but that’s why no one went against us. They were known for being ruthless when angered and Nathan sure as hell just pissed off this pack. I mean the Beta and alpha Female are from there. He had the nerve to order the women to sleep with him against their will or their mate dies. That was something no wolf could understand. Not to mention he tried to force Ruby into being his mate. He was issuing War already.

I stood up and said “Alpha.” Asher turned to me. “I would like to issue scouts to spy on that pack for the time being. Until we are sure what to do.” I stated “Agreed.” I nodded and walked out of the study and headed to the pack that was walking around outside I knew exactly who to send. “Kyle!” he turned and looked at me “where’s your brother I got a mission for him.” Kyle motioned for me to follow. Kyle doesn’t talk he’s mute but man this kids can fight, he’s one of our fastest runners and he can spot an intruder miles off.

I walked to their house seeing Kyle’s mate in the kitchen Megan waved at me with a sweet smile. Kyle pointed at the door and I knocked. “West!” the door opened and West walked out. “hey man when did you get back?” he asked with a yawn. “doesn’t matter we got a problem.” His eyes tuned serious as they usually do. “what’s up?” he asked I pushed him into the room and pulled Kyle in as well. As I explained what was happening to Nathan’s pack the Silver dust pack West became angry as did Kyle. Then I told them the plan he instantly agreed and Kyle wasn’t to go as well. I told him to take five to ten guys no more. They would spy on the pack and use a runner to take messages back to us.

Kyle would be the runner since his sight would see any message and the guys wouldn’t have to move too much. As they talked it out I told who was from the pack witch fueled their rage even more witch was good for us. If it came to an attack they would be ready. We walked out and Megan asked “what’s happening?” Kyle signed that he had a mission to go on for the pack. She signed back stating she understood and for him to be careful. Megan was a good match for Kyle. The guys walked out and I headed to the pack house once again. Those two were completely loyal to the pack and were my most trusted men. Being Beta I had to know the pack and who would be good to fight and train along with who would be good for medical practice. I walked in and Jenna walked up to me. I pulled her into a hug and kissed her.

Asher and his dad were in the study planning on what to do with what situations that might come up. I sat on the couch in the living room with Dawn. “dear did he really reject you then want to mark you?” I nodded and said “Growing up Nathan only wanted to become the alpha. I never hung out with him, so I didn’t know him. Then he started to date my sister. After that he was over my house a lot. My sister Gracie shifted being she’s older than me and well Nathan became very attracted to her. My dad being the Beta made me his successor so I had to know the pack. So while Nathan was on date with my sister I was getting pack work done.”

Dawn shook her head he was no alpha in her eyes that I could tell. “continue.” She stated leaning back on the couch. “well I knew Nathan wasn’t loyal to my sister he slept around all the time. Calling it sleep overs while I did the alpha work, I tried to warn Gracie but she wouldn’t hear me out. Then came the day that Nathan would be able to find his mate. I always knew that he wanted a mate that could shift and at the time we weren’t sure if I would be able to because my birth mom was human. When he approached me I was confused we weren’t that great of friends. But I will never forget what he said to me. He was heartless. Told me he didn’t want to break my sisters heart.”

Dawn shook her head then I continued on. “I left the pack not wanting to see my mate with my step sister. I went to my aunts and Jango found me. You know the rest.” Dawn looked at me with shock. “did you go through the rejection?” I nodded and stated “I almost died from it.” She got up not saying a word but I noticed a tear in the corner of her eye. I looked away as she walked out of the room.

 I never knew a female wolf could be so emotionally strong. Ruby was beyond my strength. My son had a good mate. She said none of that story with hatred only as if it was the past that she let go. She was strong, she was be a great leader. I walked into the hallway as the tears fell from my eyes. A Luna shouldn’t let people see her cry she has to be strong. As the tears fell I noticed Samantha in the hall on her knees holding her legs as tears fell from her eyes. She overheard everything. Asher told us his mate was in Jango’s pack and she had some troubles before him but he didn’t tell us to the extent of her pain. I sat by my daughter and held her close. All female wolves knew the worst pain a wolf can go through is the rejection. When they feel their mate mark another.

I couldn’t believe Ruby went through it she seemed like such a nice girl she was such a kind hearted being. You would think that after the she would be heartless a cruel girl not trusting the world but she was the opposite. I looked at Samantha and she sobbed into my cheat. I held my daughter.
