Skylar's POV
I felt a weight being lifted off of my chest, and suddenly, I felt like I could open my eyes. When I did, I spotted, my brother, Vanessa, Ashlyn, and Niall.
"Niall," I said happily.
He beamed at me. "You remember me!" he yelled.
"When did I not?" I asked, confused.
"Before you fell into your coma," Niall said, looking confused. "Do you not remember that?"
"Not really," I mumbled, trying to sit up. A searing pain went through my head, and I leaned back down. "Car, can you get a doctor?" I pleaded.
Carter nodded. "I'm on it," he said, pressing the CALL button.
The doctor pushed the door open. "Hello, I see Skylar's finally awake," he said, smiling.
His Irish accent stood out to me the most. "Wasn't I in Toronto?" I asked.
"We transported you to Mullingar after the hospital told us they couldn't house you any longer," Ashlyn explained.
I nodded.
"So," the doctor said. "Skylar, you have serious head trauma, and you're probably very weak after not eating for a month and a half. I suggest you stay in bed for the next few weeks."
"What about the wedding?" I asked Vanessa, horrified that I'd missed it.
She laughed. "Don't worry, the wedding's in a week and a half, Skylar. You didn't miss it."
"Thank goodness," I said, relieved.
"I also suggest you take these pain killers whenever you experience sharp pain when moving your head," the doctor said, handing Carter a tube of pills. "One per day."
I nodded. "When can I leave?" I asked.
"We're going to keep you overnight to run some tests, but you should be able to leave by tomorrow afternoon by the latest."
I smiled. "That sounds good."
Niall shifted his feet uncomfortably. "Yes, well, I'm going to phone the lads and let them know you're awake, I'm sure they'll want to see you."
I nodded, forcing a smile. Why was he acting so weird? It was unnerving.
"Are you going to stay?" I asked Ashlyn, ignoring Niall's odd behaviour.
"If you'd like me to, then sure," she said, smiling. "Listen..." she hesitated. "Since you lost your memory the first time, I never really apologized for being such a bitch to you, dropping you for Tiffany like that. It was wrong of me and I'm sorry."
I swallowed. "It's all right," I mumbled. "I just want to know why."
"I don't know. I guess I was mad at you for not keeping in touch, and I wanted you to suffer. I never imagined it to escalate this far though," she sighed.
"Well, are you still friends with her?" I asked nervously.
Ashlyn shook her head, her brown waves bouncing. "No," she said. "We had a fight and I walked out on her."
"Good for you," I said approvingly.
The door was flung open and the next thing I knew, I was being crushed by the one and only Louis Tomlinson.
"Lou!" I shrieked. "My head hurts!"
He gasped and climbed off carefully. "I'm sorry," he said. "I just was excited. I mean, you've been out for--"
