Niall's POV

I was not in the mood to talk to Tiffany whatsoever. But for some reason, I let her talk.

"Listen, Niall," she said softly, her orange hair falling in front of her face. She tucked her hair behind her ear. "I know you're probably mad with me about the breakup. But I want you to know it wasn't your fault at all. It was mine. And don't go blaming your friends for our breakup. Keaton wasn't the reason we broke up, Niall. I had actually been planning to do it for a while. I guess...Keaton kind of just made it happen a lot faster than I planned. I was going to tell you after the wedding, because I didn't want to ruin your night. And I don't want you to be mad at your friends, they were only trying to help. Everyone was suffering because of our relationship, the boys, Ashlyn, Skylar, Danielle and Eleanor, Sierra, even me. And whether you believe it or not, whether you know it, you suffered as well." Tiffany's brown eyes were full of honesty. "And that's why I knew I had to end it. I wasn't happy, and I believed I told you that the night I did break up with you."

I remained silent.

Tiffany swallowed. "And I'm sorry for hurting you. But you have to know that my decision was so that in the long run, both of us would be happier."

"I was happy with you," I said finally.

"And was I," Tiffany said. "Until the last few weeks. But you have to realize that...we're not meant to be, Niall, and we never have been."

I swallowed. That was definitely a tough pill to swallow.

But Tiffany was right.

I stepped forward and hugged her. "I'm sorry," I said into her ear. "But I'm accepting it. And hard as it may be, I'll move on."

She hugged me back and pulled away. "I know you will," she said softly.

"Still friends?" I asked.

"Of course," she said, smiling.

"Have fun in California," I said.

"How did you know?" she asked, surprised.

"Keaton Tweeted something a few minutes ago, and I figured you'd be going back with them," I said, shrugging.

"You assumed correct," she said, smiling. "And Niall?"

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Be good to Skylar. She deserves you." With that, Tiffany walked off.

What the hell did she mean by that?

Skylar's POV

"I'm going to miss you," Keaton said on the monitor.

"Even though you hurt me like hell and stuff?" I said, cocking my head.

Keaton laughed. "You know we're still friends, Sky."

"I know, I'm just giving you a hard time," I said, giggling. "Have fun in Cali. Take care of Tiff, say hi to the boys for me."

"Will do," Keaton said. "I've gotta go, Tiff's just got back, and we're heading to the airport now."

"Wait," I heard Tiffany say. "I want to talk to Skylar."

"Since when?" Keaton asked, but got up obediently for his girlfriend.

"Hi," I said. "How'd it go?"

"He's accepted it, and I think he'll move on, but he's not gonna be able to do it on his own." Worry filled Tiff's eyes. "Just give me a call when he's down, all right? Keep me in the loop?"
