Daniel stood in the empty Iceberg Lounge doing paperwork and other normal business things because Oswald had been so busy spending time with his mother and trying not to be a criminal so that Abigail Dupont wouldn't take his mother away from him he had completely forgotten about his legitimate business of the lounge so Daniel was taking care of things Oswald would usually be. He stood at the bar filling out paperwork when suddenly he heard the door open. "We're closed!" Said Daniel as he didn't even look up from his work but he didn't hear the door open again. "Hey I said we're closed!" Barked Daniel as he turned and saw a young boy standing in front of him. The boy had platinum blonde hair and these white patches on his skin. "Oh.... We don't allow anyone under 21 in here you gotta go." Said Daniel as the kid gripped the straps of his backpack.
"I'm looking for my Mom." Said the kid as Daniel looked at him.
"Did you not hear a word I said?!" Asked Daniel as the kid kicked his feet around for a second.
"I was told that I could find her here." Said the kid as Daniel looked around.
"Does it look like there's anyone else here besides me?! Now beat it would ya! I got a lot of work to do." Said Daniel as he turned back to his paperwork.
"I was told a guy named Daniel could help me find her, please she looks like this." Said the kid as he pulled a photograph out of his pocket and held it out. Daniel sighed heavily and decided to humor the kid so he looked at the photo and it was of Sarah.
"What's your name?" Asked Daniel as the kid looked at him.
"Adam Malcolm Ivory." Said the kid as Daniel sighed and grinned laughing a bit.
"I'll take you to her." Said Daniel as he handed the photo back to him.
"Really!?" Asked Adam with a large grin but he quickly lost it. "Why?" He asked hesitantly which Daniel smiled at because that's exactly what Sarah would've done in such a situation.
"Because I care a lot about your Mom and I know how much she's been missing you recently." Said Daniel as Adam smiled softly.
"She misses me?" He asked as Daniel nodded.
"Yeah, why don't you take a seat and I'll finish up what I'm doing here then we can head over to her." Said Daniel as he patted one of the barstools.
They sat there quietly for a moment the only sound in the silence being the scratching of Daniel's pen against paper and the clicking of the keys on the calculator. "So how do you know my Mom?" Asked Adam as Daniel smiled.
"We were friends when she was in highschool." Said Daniel as he continued doing his paperwork.
"Did you go to school together?" Asked Adam as Daniel shook his head.
"No, my old man didn't trust the public education system to teach me what I needed to know so I was home schooled." Said Daniel as Adam nodded.
"So how did you meet my Mom?" Asked Adam as Daniel smiled brighter.
"Her friends dragged her to this lounge my Dad ran and I played piano I guess I just charmed her and we were dating up until just before she met your Dad." Said Daniel as he lost his smile thinking of Sarah and Zsasz together which turned his stomach.
"You don't like my Dad, do you?" Asked Adam as Daniel sighed.
"Not exactly." He stated but Adam shrugged.
"It's ok if you don't, I don't really like him anymore either." Said Adam as Daniel put down his pen.
"Is your Dad here with you?" Asked Daniel as Adam shook his head.
"No... I sorta ran away." Said Adam in almost a mumble but Daniel sighed. "Now that you know are you gonna take me back?" Asked Adam as he hung his head and Daniel shook his head.
"Absolutely not! I don't think Zsasz should've been taking care of you in the first place! I know that man better than your Mom ever will and the bottom line is that he's dangerous and psychotic but everyone is in this god for-saken city!" Said Daniel as Adam looked up.
"Even my Mom?" Asked Adam in a way that showed he really didn't know anything about Sarah.
"Actually no, she's probably the sanest person I've ever met that was born in this city." Said Daniel as he gathered up his paperwork and stood. He walked over to a door and went inside the room for a few seconds and came back out without the papers. "Alright let's go, you can ride with me." Said Daniel as he walked past Adam but Adam hopped down and followed him.
They walked out and got in Daniel's car. As they drove the silence felt kind of awkward so Daniel decided to ask something that had been bothering him. "Hey Adam how old are you?" Asked Daniel as he drove but Adam went very quiet.
"That's a hard question to answer." Said Adam as Daniel became confused.
"I mean not really, it's just how many years you've been alive like me I'm 29 so it's not really that hard of a question." Said Daniel as Adam sunk into his shoulders.
"It is when you don't look the age you're supposed to be." Said Adam as Daniel glanced over at him for a brief second seeing how upset the question had made him.
"You don't have to answer if you don't want to." Said Daniel as he flicked on the radio but Adam turned it off.
"No it's fine, I guess I'm just so used to everyone around knowing about it that it's hard to think of someone not knowing." Sad Adam as he sighed. "I'm only like 3 years old but I age like 4 years every year. The doctors thought that I was just gonna grow old faster and faster but recently my body has started degrading and I'm dying." Said Adam softly.
"Then why aren't you in a hospital?" Asked Daniel as Adam huffed.
"Because I've spent my entire life in a hospital bed and I'm sick of it! If I'm gonna die than all I want is to see my mom! That's my dying wish and my Dad couldn't even honor that so I ran away to find her myself!" Said Adam as he sighed and the car stopped at red light.
"Well then I'll certainly help you full fil that."
