Chapter 36: Engulfed in the Flames of Despair

Bruce showed Sarah and Daniel the video and Sarah actually had a glimmer of hope within her. "Abigail told me she had made an antidote to the poison but she said she used the only dose she had me, maybe we can find the person who made it. Who was the lead chemist on the Indian Hill project?" Asked Sarah as Bruce did some digging then finally found the person.
"Her name was Katherine Daily." Said Bruce as Sarah looked at the screen.
"What's her last known address?" Asked Sarah firmly.

Bruce gave her the address and the two headed off to find this chemist to hopefully cure Joker. They finally found her address which was still in Gotham thankfully. They broke into her house not bothering with the niceties. They searched through her house until suddenly a tall scrawny woman swung a bat but Sarah was quick and dodged. Sarah placed one hand on the girl's throat and slammed her to the floor. "Where is the antidote?!" Sarah barked at her whilst choking her.
"Who are you?" Asked the woman as Sarah smashed the back of the woman's head into the floor over and over until Daniel put his hand on her shoulder.
"Sarah that's enough." Said Daniel as this side of her was actually scaring him and he had grown up with Oswald doing much worse for less stressful reasons so the thought that the woman he loved could act so much like her father in a way he knew she tried so hard to reject. Daniel knelt down on the floor and looked at the woman.
"Look lady, this is Sarah Ivory and you made a poison that designed to kill her but her Dad stepped in the way and took the bullet for her now we need the antidote to the poison so here's how it's gonna be: you give us the antidote and I won't let my poor grieving girlfriend take out her newfound rage on you so if you don't give us the antidote I will take my hands off her and let her turn into a red stain on the floor. Your choice sweetheart, I'd choose wisely." Said Daniel with a very fake smile on his face.
"I can't give you the antidote! The chemical compound calls for ferric chloride, aluminum sulfate, and an incredibly rare mineral that can only be found under Gotham but the last people to find it were the Duponts! And Miss Dupont only gave me enough to make one!" Said the woman as Sarah went numb for a second and remembered something. As these memories flowed through her mind her grip on the woman's throat became looser.

Sarah remembered that the first night she met Abigail she got turned around in the mansion and ended up in the garden behind the house. She found an old mineshaft on the cliff side that had glowing crystals on the walls. Abigail had come up behind her and explained that before the Duponts worked for Wayne's they had a mining company in Gotham that depleted the mineral deposits that grew in the caverns under Gotham.

"Lotus Sulfur." Said Sarah as she got up. "What if we collected some for you could you make it?" Asked Sarah as she seemed a little more level headed now.
"Yes." Said the woman as Sarah looked over at Daniel.
"We need to go to the Dupont manor." Said Sarah firmly as Daniel knew it was not the place nor time to question her, but in all truth he was absolutely terrified to have her newfound psychotic behavior directed anywhere near him so he just wanted to agree with her rather than risk her trying to kill him.

The two swiftly descended on the Dupont manor to find the servants standing around no longer wearing their gold snake masks. The guard's ties were loosened and the maids had buttons undone on their dress shirts. Sarah and Daniel stood before them and finally a guard took a long drag off his cigarette and stood to face them. "Did you kill the bitch yet?" Asked the man as Daniel and Sarah looked at each other.
"Aren't you supposed to be loyal to her?" Asked Daniel as the scoffed.
"You guys have seen how awful she is but we all come from families that have served the Duponts since before they came to America from France. The Duponts are evil people with no sense of morality and Abigail Dupont's is the worst of them all! So have you killed the bitch yet?" Asked the man as Sarah shook her head.
"No not yet, but we need access to the mine shaft in the garden." Said Sarah as the man nodded.
"Follow me."
