Toni
Everyone was walking around my house in a frenzy while I sat quietly. I called everyone Janet told me to as well as her family. They didn't react the way I thought they would. They weren't scared and they weren't worried. If anything they were calm. The boys were also calm. They were told their mother is missing and all they said was 'well let's find her.' They were sitting and playing. Was I the only one actually worried? "Toni." I was pulled out of my thoughts.

"Yes."

"What's wrong?" asked Rebbie.

"What's wrong? Really?"

"Yeah."

"My wife was just snatched out of the car in the middle of the expressway and taken away from me."

"I know."

"Am I not allowed to be worried?"

"I didn't say that. I just want to know what's bothering you. I know it's something else." She sat down next to me. I released a breath.

"She was too calm about it. I mean yes she sounded nervous but it was like she planned ahead for this. Almost like she knew it was going to happen. Isn't that weird?"

"No."

"Why?"

"Because she did plan for this. Janet knew that he was going to come back and she wanted to be prepared."

"Why wouldn't she tell me?"

"Because you would've been looking over your shoulder everyday. We were prepared for this."

"So is she safe? Will he hurt her?"

"No. Not physically. He's always been obsessed with having her back. He wouldn't hurt her that way."

"I just feel like there's more to this. The timing is so weird. Right when we find out something about JohVonnie and Jada, this happens. That doesn't seem suspicious?"

"It's very suspicious."

"So what are we going to do about it?"

"I don't know, but Janet wouldn't give instructions if she didn't have a plan. We just have to find it."

"You're confident about this?"

"When it comes to Janet, I'd be confident about everything." I took a deep breath.

"Alright. I'll trust her, but I just hope that nothing bad is happening to her."

"I know, Toni. We'll find her." I nodded. "Why don't we take the boys with us. Would that help you?"

"Yeah. Just distract them from what's going on."

"Okay. All the stuff Janet left is on her desk."

"Alright." They got the boys ready and packed a few bags for them to stay for a few days. Momma Kat hugged me before leaving out. I hugged the boys and told them I loved them and that their mom loves them before they left with them.

I laid back on the couch and thought about everything. Everything that had happened and everything that was said.

"I would never run away from you or the boys. Make sure you tell them that."

I thought about what she said before everything happened. Why would she say that? What people were she talking about? I was more confused than worried now. Why did she have to be taken? We just celebrated Jordan's birthday and Josiah's clean bill of health. Why does this stuff keep happening to us?

Tears fell down my face as I thought about all the possible things that could be happening to my baby. I hope she's not hurt. I wish I could've stopped it, but everything happened so fast that there was no time to react. Then I had to drive all the way home without her.

I need to figure out what's going on. I got up from the couch and went to the bathroom to wash my face. Then I went into her office and saw all the stuff she talked about on her desk. Sitting down behind, I began to go through everything. It was all pretty common. Birth certificates, social security and medical information. There was legal information for the businesses and the house along with our wills. Bank account information and life insurance policies. Why would this be important?

I looked in the drawer again and saw more files. Taking them out, I looked through them. This stuff has to do with music. There were contracts for her music royalties and her current contract with the label. She still had it even though she hasn't released music in a couple years. She does it under her first name and never releases her picture so no one really knows it's her. These files stated who the royalties went to. Each album had the royalties going to her, her mother, me, and the boys. Everyone had the same list of names. The contract for her first couple of albums caught my attention. There were different names on there. Hers, Joseph, and someone named James Debarge. Who's James?

Going through some more files, I found something else. A marriage license between Janet and the James guy. It was dated around the same time as the album contracts. What the fuck? She was married to him. I found a picture of them in the file and instantly stopped. This is who snatched her out of the car. This is who took her and she knew he would take her. How did she know? Why wouldn't she tell me? Why would he take her?

I put the files back on the desk and left the office. I rubbed my face and took some deep breaths. A guy who she failed to tell me she was married to has taken her and I don't know why. What the hell is going on?
Knock Knock. I went to the door and opened it. Can this day get any worse? "What do you want JohVonnie?"

"I came to check on you. I heard the news that Janet's missing." She tried to hug me but I moved.

"What do you want?"

"Come on, Toni. I can be nice. I know how much you care for my sister."

"MmmHmm."

"Listen, I want to offer help in any way that I can."

"Why?"

"Because I care and don't worry no crazy ex boyfriend can keep you two apart." How'd she know that? The news didn't mention that.

"Crazy boyfriend?" Her eyes got slightly big.

"Nothing." I decided to mess with her.

"No, you said crazy boyfriend. Did the police release that information?"

"Uhhh...yeah."

"That means they have a lead. I should go down there." I grabbed my coat and keys from behind the door and went out the house.

"Wait! You should rest, Toni. C-cause....ummmm this is a very stressful time for you and you should....umm rest."

"I'd rest better when I have her back." I locked the house and ran to my car. I watched her rub her head and go to her car. I quickly switched which car I was taking and followed behind her. Dummy should've stayed where she belonged.
