1977

You flicked through the pages of the book you were reading, not particularly interested in what was going on within the story the pages told. You had read the book many times, and you were starting to get sick of it.

You wanted to do something new, something exciting. You didn't get outside very often and you didn't have much money, so you were often stuck at home reading or watching television.

Your thoughts were disrupted by a sudden knocking on the door, making you get up and put your book away. You opened it slowly, surprised at who was standing in the doorway.

"Freddie!" You gasped, looking him up and down.

"I didn't know you were back from your tour!" You exclaimed, quickly hugging him.

"Someone's happy to see me," He chuckled, wrapping his arms around you. You rolled your eyes, easily hearing the smirk in his voice.

"More surprised than happy," You teased, laughing at his unamused look.

"Well that's just hurtful, darling, after all I've done for you this is how I'm treated?" He clasped his hand over his heart dramatically, and the two of you began to laugh.

"What are you doing here?" You chuckled, letting him inside.

"If it wasn't obvious, I came to see you. And I wanted to go out." He winked.

"Go out where?" You raised an eyebrow.

Freddie smiled.

"Wherever you like! Preferably somewhere fun, since you know how much I despise being bored."

You laughed at that.

"There's a carnival not far from here, how about that?" You suggested.

"Lovely! Lead the way, dear." The singer smirked, opening the door for you.

"Such a gentleman," You remarked, walking out.

Freddie had always gone out of his way to make you happy, and while he was usually relaxed and a bit shy around you, he was often flamboyant and extravagant to try and impress you. The boys had said he fancied you, but you never believed them.

You arrived at the carnival and purchased tickets, walking around to see what you wanted to do.

"Step right up and test your aim!" One of the workers shouted, and you turned your head to where people were shooting darts at balloons attempting to win prizes.

"I couldn't win one of those if I tried." You sighed.

"I bet I could." Freddie grinned.

You snorted.

"Alright show off, let's see it."

Freddie walked up and was given a pair of darts. He threw them carefully at the balloons, hitting them each time.

"You were saying?" He smirked, walking back over to you with a stuffed animal in his arms.

"Well done." You rolled your eyes.

"Are you gonna take it or not, lovey?" Freddie raised an eyebrow, extending his arms out with the stuffed animal.

"F-For me?" You stuttered in surprise.

"Who else?" He chuckled.

You blushed and took it into your arms, walking with him to more challenges and rides.

"Let's go on the Ferris wheel!" Freddie exclaimed, tugging on your arm like a little kid.

"We'd just be sitting and being floated up, isn't that a little too boring for you?" You teased.

"Fine, I'll go by myself." He shrugged, walking away dramatically.

"I'm just messing with you, let's go." You smacked his arm lightly , getting into a booth with him.

"Hey, Fred?" You said suddenly.

He hummed in response, looking at you.

"Thank you...for today, I'm having lots of fun." You smiled, taking his hand.

"Fun comes naturally when you're with me, darling." He grinned.

"Oh, does it?" You scoffed.

"Mhm." His eyes softened, and he looked at you thoughtfully as if debating whether or not he should do something.

The Ferris wheel went down at that moment, making you yelp and grab onto Freddie for protection.

He chuckled quietly.

"It's not going to hurt you, honey." He snorted.

"I didn't expect it!" You huffed.

He snickered and patted your arm. You bit your lip hesitantly, and kissed him on the cheek, not being brave enough to risk it on the lips.

His eyes widened in shock, looking at you astonished.

"I-I'm sorry," You stuttered,  burying your head in your hands.

"C-Can I ask you something?" He asked softly, taking you by surprise.

You gulped, but nodded.

"What do you think you're doing, being more outrageous than me?" You felt your arms being lowered as you were forced to look into Freddie's brown eyes, that were not filled with a single trace of hate.

"I like you." He blurted, his cheeks flushing with color.

You felt as if you were mentally imprisoned, and someone had just broken the chains.

You smiled softly and kissed him again, this time on the lips. He kissed back instantly, running a hand through your hair. You scooted closer to him, practically on his lap as you put a hand on his cheek. The kissing lasted for a while, and it was only when the Ferris wheel stopped that you broke away.

"Come on, show off." You chuckled once you got out of the seat.

The two of you went to Freddie's house, where he threw a party and made sure to end the night with some more entertainment.

The end.
