1977

As you watched Freddie and the band record one of their songs for their upcoming album "News Of The World", an uneasy feeling formed within you. You couldn't help but feel like something was...off with Freddie.

His voice cracked more than twice while singing, he didn't have nearly as much of his usual energy or confidence and every so often you would see something flicker across his eyes.

He also had barely talked to you recently, you had greeted him with a cheerful hello and a hug when you saw him at the studio, though his response was barely audible and he didn't make eye contact with you at all.

You automatically felt concerned for him, but you pushed it aside despite your better judgement.

"I'm sure he's fine," You thought to yourself with a bite of your lip.

After the boys were finishing up recording, you walked over to them with a smile.

"That was amazing, guys! Wonderful as always." You grinned sincerely.

"Thanks Y/N, glad you liked it love." Roger winked flirtatiously, while Brian and John smiled gratefully in response though Freddie hardly reacted at all.

Now you knew something was wrong with Freddie. He would usually make some witty response whenever you complimented him or if the two of you were alone and he was feeling shy then he would blush and say thank you.

His gaze was planted firmly on the ground as he hung out in the back behind the others, his body barely visible behind Brian's tall frame.

"See you later boys." You said as you forced a smile, saying goodbye to the other three who went home while Freddie didn't move.

He was still glancing at the floor obsessively, your presence unacknowledged. A small sigh escaped his lips as he walked over to his piano and sat down, tapping the keys as he began to sing.

"Another party's over, and I'm left cold sober...

My baby left me for somebody new...

I don't want to talk about it, want to forget about it...

Wanna be intoxicated with that special brew...

So come and get me, let me get in that sinking feeling...

That says my heart is on an all time low...

So don't expect me to behave perfectly, and wear that sunny smile...

My guess is, I'm in for a cloudy and overcast...

Don't try and stop me, cause I'm heading for that stormy weather soon...
