1975

You hated your job.

You weren't trying to sound ungrateful or whiny, but you meant it when you thought that you'd rather be anywhere else than working for trident studios.

Regardless of the fact your best friend was under a contract with the record label, you weren't exactly treated well by the staff.

Particularly by Norman Sheffield.

In his eyes, you were just someone to command and humiliate. You weren't a woman with a mind and free will.

He treated the band like shit too, although they never quit.

"Excuse me, Miss L/N?"

You rolled your eyes inwardly and turned around to see another young woman standing behind you.

"Mr Sheffield has requested to see you in his office." She informed you.

"Great." You complained in your mind, ready to do anything but talk to that bastard.

"Fine." You muttered, rolling your eyes a second time and walking to Norman's office.

On the way there, you saw the boys rehearsing in the studio, where Freddie was singing his heart out.

You grinned at how perfect his voice sounded.

Recently you had begun to have a crush on Freddie, although you thought it was very unlikely he felt the same way.

You put on headphones so you could listen.

"Underneath the moonlight

Together we'll sail across the sea

Reminiscing every night

Meantime (And in the meantime, baby)

I ask you to be my valentine

You say you'd have to tell your daddy if you can

I'll be your Valentino,

We'll ride upon an omnibus and then the casino

Get a new facial, start a sensational"

He stopped singing once he saw you, and mumbled something to Roger who nodded.

"That was lovely, Freddie." You smiled as he approached you.

"Thank you darling." He smiled, opening his arms for you.

You came into them immediately, hugging him with a sigh.

He rubbed your back gently and you stroked his long, jet black locks.

You did that often, although that was the farthest you went in terms of affection. You didn't want to go further, as you were afraid of facing rejection and even more afraid of losing Freddie's friendship forever.

"I have to go see Sheffield in his office." You grumbled, hearing Freddie snort a bit at your lack of enthusiasm.

"Not now, I only just saw you. That can wait."

You sighed.

"I'd better just get it over with, he hates me enough as it is."

"That wanker knows nothing, don't listen to him lovey." Freddie shook his head.
