Just as we get back into the studio I turn off towards the bathroom after asking Joel for the way.
In the bathroom I stand infront of the sink and look at myself in the mirror. Slightly red eyes, a little makeup has been smeared and messy hair. On top of that there's also the dried rests of the tears, which might not be visible but I can definitely feel them. Yep, I definitely look completely normal. How would one possibly get the idea that I was crying? Impossible!
Luckily I manage to refresh my face a little with the cool water and not let my eyes look like I cried. Well, my makeup is gone now but as it anyway was a natural look with very little makeup it doesn't really do any harm. I try to brush my hair a little with my hands and even if it doesn't work too well I can always say it was the wind and not Joel's hand.
I take another deep breath and then step out of the bathroom again.
All the boys are still sitting on the couch and Joel has joined them again. Aleksi is still sitting at his computer and is working in the programme. He is the first who notices me and waves me to him immediately. "I did a little something in the meantime, maybe you'll like it.", he explains as I walk towards him. "Olli recorded some lines with his bass and now this resulted.", he continues and starts to play the song.
From the beginning of I can't stop being impressed. I did know that the bass was definitely still missing a lot in the song, but I didn't expect it to be so much better with the bass. "Wow, thanks. That's really cool. Whenever I add a bass line in my songs I use a programme because I can't play the bass myself and that just now just made the along so much better!", I thank him and can only smile.
Olli appears behind me and puts his arm around my shoulder. "You're welcome.", he says and looks at Aleksi with me who is smiling at us in happiness. "And well done on you being able to bring Joel back into the studio without using violence and that he's even smiling. It normally takes a while when he has to get some fresh air.", the blond bass player whispers to me and then continues in a louder voice, "Well then, let us finally start the evening. Who wants to eat something?".
That question isn't even a question for everyone because just as Olli had said the word 'eat' he had six hungry people around him who act like a herd on a hunt for food. "Okay, then I guess we'll order now. Who is for pizza?", he says a little overwhelmed and gets his phone out.
It doesn't take long until everyone has given up their orders and the food gets ordered. Until the food comes we entertain ourselves in a different way. We'll, drinking beer, every now and then also a mixed drink from Joonas, sit on our phones and look through insta or talk. Well the things, that we obviously haven't done enough over the last few days.
Only with the food, which arrives after about twenty minutes, the evening really starts, the music that until now has only been playing quietly in the background gets turned louder and the alcohol also starts going down faster.
At about ten o'clock I look at the watch again for the first time, at my phone. I see the one message immediately when I look onto the screen. Keno. I open the chat and read the message. "I'm happy that you found friends, Lia. They still seem to be as cool as they were back in 2016 and I will most likely manage to come to Finland at some stage. Just have fun and don't think about the bad things that have happened. Think about the good times because that is still the best, when you smile." When I read that I have to smile which doesn't stay unnoticed. "Good news?", Joel asks sitting next to me on the couch.
My gaze flies over to him and like always stays on his blue eyes. I nod and smile which makes him smile aswell. I really don't know what it is but something about Keno's message makes me smile so much that even Joel can't ruin my mood right now.
