Livi wasn't kidding about the training. You were fucking exhausted.
Who the hell wakes up at five in the morning to go running?
You'd just barely made it to the end of the trail that Steve and Bucky had led you and Peter along for your morning run. The sun had just begun to rise, casting the trees around you in a warm orange glow, when you'd made it back. Running was one thing. Running through the god damn woods in the fucking dark was another level of fucked up. Apparently, you were the only one that didn't have advanced senses. At first, you'd used your shadows to illuminate the space in front of you. But by mile five your brain was too exhausted to keep it up. You'd stumbled the remaining three miles back to the compound, cursing along the way.
The others were waiting for you at the end of the path and without saying a word Steve and Bucky turned to lead the way into the compound to the gyms. Steve was still kind of ignoring you, only giving you enough attention to bark orders and correct your many mistakes. Peter was annoyingly good at everything, which given his years of combat experience over you made sense. Still, it pissed you off.
Webs sparred with Steve on the opposite side of the mats to you and Bucky. Bucky either didn't know that this was your first experience with combat training or was getting back at you for the splash mishap the night before. If you had to guess, it'd be the latter.
According to the rules, you weren't allowed to use your powers. Which didn't help the situation. You spent more time on your back than you did on your feet. And not in a fun way.
Now he had you standing, trapped against his body with his metal arm pinning both of yours behind your back as you struggled to get out of the hold.
"That's all you've got, doll?" He goaded, bending down to smirk into your eyes.
Halting your struggle, you balanced up on your tiptoes, coming nose to nose with him.
"Listen up, Winter." His body went taught at the nickname. "Don't fucking underestimate me. When I get good at this, and make no mistake, I will get good at this, I will pummel your fine ass into this mat so hard it'll take a crane to get you back up."
Bucky's eyes widened in shock, and you used that to your advantage, bringing your knee up to land a solid blow to his junk. He immediately released you, bending over to hold his precious jewels.
"What the fuck was that?!" He groaned.
"That was your own damn fault. You let your guard down." You shrugged.
"Enough." Steve ordered from his place by Webs. "Hit the showers you two. Breakfast is in the fridge. We've had your meals prepared so you get the exact macros you need."
"Thank fuck." You strode past Bucky, checking him with your shoulder as you passed.
"Penelope." Steve barked.
Freezing, you turned to look at him. He was pointing to the mat at his feet. Groaning you made your way over, noticing Webs hightail it out of there behind you.
"Yes, sir?" You asked, clasping your hands behind your back and smiling up at Steve coyly.
"You will meet me back here after breakfast."
You rolled your eyes.
Steve's fingers pinched your chin, tilting it back to force you to look at him. He didn't say anything, just pinning you with a look that screamed punishment before dropping his hold and heading back to Bucky.
You rolled your eyes again and went in search of your shower.
Peter was waiting for you in your suite, sprawled out on the couch. "What the hell was that Sparks?"
