Someone was kissing you. No, make that two someones. Two sets of lips were working their way along either side of your face, jaw, and neck. Smiling, you brought your hands up to cup the back of Bucky and Steve's heads, your fingers sifting through their hair. Their lips smiled against your skin.
When you peaked your eyes open, you met Steve's crystal orbs first. "Good morning, Angel."
"Morning." Your scratchy voice answered.
But one look at the windows proved that the sun hadn't yet fully risen. Groaning, you turned away from Steve, burying your face into Bucky's chest which rumbled with subdued laughter.
Steve continued to trail kisses along your shoulders. "How do you feel?" His breath whispered against your skin.
"Tired." You grumbled. Every muscle in your body felt heavy, sore.
Bucky's arms wound tightly around you.
"So, we take it that means you don't want to go for the morning run?"
Leaning back, you glared up at him. "No."
He laughed again. "Some Avenger you are, baby doll."
You huffed in annoyance.
"It's fine." Steve's easy dismissal of you from morning training sent surprise through your system.
"Really?" You asked, not bothering to open your eyes.
"Really. You rest." He gave your spine one final, lingering kiss before pushing away and exiting the bed.
When Bucky kissed your hair and tried to move away from you, you tightened your hold on him. "Not you too."
His next kiss landed on your forehead. "We'll be back before you know it, Nel."
"Ughh."
He removed you from his chest way too easily. You were too tired to put up much of a fight, your heavy limbs helpless to the comfort of the bed beneath you. They hadn't even left the room before you'd fallen back asleep.
The next time you'd woken you were greeted with a pounding in your head that had simple sounds like the toilet flushing wanting you to cut the damn thing off. Not the toilet, your head. Maybe taking on two super soldiers at once was your limit. Or the exhaustion of being ghosty for days straight was just catching up with you. You were going with the latter because the thought of not being able to keep up with the demand of Steve and Bucky was not something you ever wanted to consider.
Bucky's goad about you being a subpar Avenger only added to your ire. They really thought they'd tired you out enough to miss morning training.
Fuck that.
Flashing to your room, you took a moment to steady your weaving body on the doorframe of your closet before getting dressed in your favorite tie dye hot pink leggings and sports bra set. Grabbing your neon Nobulls off the shelf, you hopped as you pulled them on. Dressed, you flashed to the door of the training gyms and repeated the steadying of your body. Fuck if you were gonna let a little dizziness keep you from getting behind.
When you entered the gym, Peter was already going at it with both Bucky and Steve. You hesitated at the edge of the mat to observe their dynamic. Peter had thrown himself into his training while you'd been figuring out the whole ghost thing and it showed. He was actually holding his own against the two super soldiers. You were impressed.
The guys noticed you at the same time, three sets of eyes taking in your waiting position. Two sets a little more knowingly.
Steve raised his brow in question and Bucky smirked. Neither said anything to get you to leave, instead welcoming you onto the mat and beginning right where you'd left off. Getting your ass handed to you repeatedly until the exhaustion you'd woken up with had taken over to the point that you could barely push yourself up from the latest spot you'd landed.
