The next week was spent in the routine Dr. Whittier had set up for you. Breakfast followed by morning vitals and training with the guards. Lunch with those same guards with a side of a little white pill. Afternoon training and vitals in the lab. Dinner in your room and planning your escape.

You spent what little free time you got in the lab at Whittier's side, observing the scientists as they worked. She actually kept you informed, going over everything they were doing and how it pertained to their precious mission. She never did appoint you another guard. Which gave you hope that they fully believed you to be cooperating. They never let you out to explore the bunker further though. The only spaces you'd seen were the ones Whittier had shown you on your first day here. Everyone around you was kind, with the exception of Keev. Dude fucking hated you. You'd even made fake friends with the guards training you, cracking jokes and sharing meals. They'd even invited you into their daily card games in the break room, giving you shit when you kicked their asses at blackjack.

Whittier felt that your results so far were promising. Honestly, you felt physically stronger, your bumps and bruises from training healing far quicker than what was perceived as normal. The harsh lights of the lab began to hurt your eyes, and certain sounds that normally wouldn't have bothered you scraped against your eardrums. If the dim whit at the corner table dropped another fucking thing, you were going to rip their clumsy ass hands from their wrists. Which was plausible considering you'd lost weight and gained muscle. Half the time you felt like a freaking linebacker with the way you filled out. Some of your favorite outfits were going to have to go when you got back home.

You tried not to think about home as much as possible. It filled you with anxiety and dread, so you instead focused on the here and now. One thing at a time.

Slow and steady wins the fucking race. Blah blah blah.

Today they'd moved on to phase two of their plan. Which really only meant upping your daily dose of the serum. Whereas before you didn't feel immediate effects, today you felt sluggish and nauseous after lunch. Whittier dismissed you back to your room early, telling you to get some rest and let the compounds you'd ingested do their work.

You moved slowly through the hallway, letting your fingers drift over the bumpy cinderblock walls of the space still not updated. Halfway there Keev grabbed your upper arm and steered you towards a door you hadn't yet been through.

He threw you into the room and you stumbled to keep from falling flat on your face as the door slammed shut behind you, the automatic lock clicking into place. Looking up you came face to face with two other guards standing on either side of a metal table, the only object in the dark room. As your panic grew, they leered.

Shit.

You spun around, looking for a way out only to come chest to chest with Keev.

"You thought being Whittier's pet would save you?" Keev laughed, shoving you back a step. "Think again. It's a good front she puts on. In reality she could care less about anything that happens as long as it doesn't interfere with her precious data. It just means we have to be creative. Isn't that right guys?"

The other two men laughed behind you, the sound echoing in your still dizzy head and around the small space.

You eyed the door behind Keev. It was locked but you could steal one of their keycards to open it and get out. First, you had to incapacitate them. Which wouldn't be easy. Especially given the heaviness of your body from the upped dosage of the serum.

Fuck.

"You think you can just walk around like you own the fucking place? Killing without repercussions? I've got news for you, slut. Davidson was our friend. And we've come to collect retribution." Keev stepped towards you, reaching out to brush a strand of hair from your face. You flinched and swatted his hand away, taking a step back.
