1996

Wednesday December 22nd

I wake up to the smell of bacon, and I know that Molly is making her traditional Christmas preparation breakfast, Ginny told me she does this every year, on the twenty-second we eat breakfast together, and it's so big, its scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes, and whatever your heart desires. On the twenty-third it's time to get out and find the tree. On the twenty-fourth it's time to decorate the tree, and then lastly on the morning of the twenty-fifth, we open our secret Santa in our pyjamas.
I love the Weasleys traditions, at home our parents find the tree, and decorate it themselves, we each find a present to every member of our family, and we open one of them in the morning of the twenty-fifth in our pyjamas.
It's all fun, but after a Christmas at the Weasleys it's not the same to go home with other traditions. That's why our parents asked if we wanted to go visit our grandparents or stay at the Weasley's, Hermione and I instantly agreed to go to the Weasley's because then we could spend Christmas together with our significant other.

---

I wake up Ginny by kissing her forehead and she says with a sleepy voice: "Morning love."

"Morning sweetheart"

Ginny: "Do I smell bacon?"

She sits up and I say: "If you don't, I must still be dreaming."

Ginny: "Very funny, let's go downstairs then."

At the table everyone is already seated, and Ginny and I sit down at the end of the table, not long after Molly place all the food on the table and Ron is of course the first one to dig in.
We all eat and then as the plates gets empty Molly says: "I was thinking of going for a walk after breakfast."

George answers with his mouth full of pancake: "Sounds nice mom."

And Fred takes over: "Yes mom, enjoy your peaceful walk alone."

Molly: "I meant all of us, you knuckleheads."

Everyone comes up with excuses for not to go on a walk, but I say: "If no-one is coming, I'm more than happy to walk with you."

Molly: "That's very kind of you dear, but everyone is going no matter if they want or not."

---

After the dishes are done, we all put our coats on and go outside, the wind is chilly, but the sun is shining, and the snow is glitter-like in the sun. All the boys are muttering over the cold, but Ginny, who has been walking behind all of us, throws three snowballs in a row, and she hit Ron, Fred, and George perfectly, Fred and George attack Ginny at once, but she falls into the snow trying to escape their snowballs, but without luck, not long after, we are all a part of the snowball fight, all laughing and the muttering about the cold is completely gone and replaced with laughter.
Even Molly and Arthur as joined the snowball fight, they are more passive than us kids, but they are mostly just laughing over, how we are all over the age of fifteen, but still play and laugh like we were all five years old.
After a while the snow gets cold, and we all go home and drink hot chocolate in front of the fireplace.
