1998

Thursday May 14th

After Fred's funeral Hermione and I joined the Weasleys at the Burrow, Molly had invited Professor McGonagall, Luna, Neville, and Fred's friends Lee Jordan and Oliver Wood.
Molly had made a memorial in the garden, as Molly finished cooking dinner, Luna, Neville, Ginny, and I, sat down in front of the memorial, each have picked a flower from the fields surrounding the Burrow, and placed them at the memorial.

I took Ginny's hand as she placed her flower. She had been crying all day. Tears had too been falling from my eyes, but I wanted to stay strong for Ginny, she needed me more than ever.

A while after Molly called to dinner. Charlie had come home from Romania, and Bill sat down with his wife Fleur and their new-born baby girl Victoire. Victoire had been born the same night Fred had died.

As we sat down to eat, there was a silence around the table. Everyone was eating silently and the only noise to hear was chewing. I couldn't stand the silence any longer, so I stood up and said: "Excuse me, Fred has died, yes, and we are all filled with grief and sorrow, but Fred was a jokester, he would never have accepted this silence, so right now we are doing the opposite of what Fred would have done. George, can you help me out here?"

George stood up beside me and said: "Harlow is right, we have lost a son, a brother, and a friend. But if he were here, he would have made us all laugh. And I think I have the right joke for just that." George cleared his voice and said: "In honour of Fred, why did the ghost become a stand-up comedian?"

Everyone looked around confused and as George said the punch line: "Because it always got a graveyard of applause!"

Ginny started chuckling and not long after everyone was laughing. We then all took turns around the table telling jokes that Fred either had said before or could have said, when it was my turn, I said: "Why did the Quidditch player bring a ladder to the game?"

And before I got to say the punch line everyone said in unison: "Because he wanted to reach new heights in the sport."

As Ginny and I got to bed that night she whispered in my ear: "Thank you, you really honoured Fred tonight, both mom and dad have been crying every day since he died."

"Yeah, I couldn't stand the silence, so rather laughter than crying right?"

Ginny: "Right, you make the best of every situation, that is one of the many reasons I love you."

"I love you too Ginny."

Laying in Ginny's bed, our bodies intertwined, skin against skin. The moon's soft glow peeked through the curtains, casting a gentle light upon our faces.

As our fingertips traced delicate patterns on each other's skin, a wave of desire washed over us. Our lips met in a passionate kiss, tenderly at first, our mouths melding together in a perfect harmony. The weight of our Fred's death vanished as our lips met.

Ginny's hands found their way into my hair her gentle tugs sending shivers down my spine. Our kisses grew more intense, more urgent, as our bodies pressed closer. The world outside ceased to exist as we lost ourselves in the intensity of the moment.

The taste of Ginny's lips, the feel of her body against mine, sent electric currents coursing through me. Desire surged through my veins, my heart racing, as our passion threatened to consume us completely. In that moment, nothing else mattered but the love we shared.

But as our desire reached its peak, a soft clearing of the throat shattered our bubble of intimacy. I opened my eyes to see Luna Lovegood lying on the floor, her eyes closed, attempting to find sleep. The reminder that we were not alone jolted us back to reality.

We broke our kiss, our chests heaving with a mix of desire and embarrassment. Our eyes met, a blend of amusement and frustration shining within them. We understood the need for discretion, even in the throes of our passion.

"Goodnight, Luna," Ginny whispered, her voice filled with affection, acknowledging our unexpected chaperone.

"Goodnight," Luna responded dreamily, barely audible as she settled back into her peaceful slumber.

Ginny and I exchanged a knowing glance, the fire of our desire still burning beneath the surface. We respected the situation at hand, creating a slight distance between our bodies. Though interrupted, our love remained steadfast. Feeling the embarrassment within, I tucked a stray lock of hair behind my ear, I kissed Ginny's shoulder, and she moved closer to me, I fell asleep with her body pressed lovingly against mine.
