Breaking the shadows

Starlit night.

1998
Monday June 8th 

We got to the lake nearby, we tossed our towels on a rock nearby and jumped in the water. The cold waters surrounded us, and we swam around and playfully splashed water on each other. Suddenly Ginny had disappeared, I looked around panicking, and then I felt something around my legs, it felt like something were pulling me down, but when I looked down, I saw Ginny's fiery red hair, I started laughing as she pulled me under the water, she held me close to her, and I felt secure even under the water. As we came out of the water gasping for air, Ginny flung her arms around my neck and kissed me, the taste of the fresh waters had stained her lips, mixing with her cherry ChapStick. I breathed her in. Our kiss broke by laughing in the distance. As I looked over on the land, I saw Hermione and Ron holding hands, Hermione's laugh filling the air, just after them came Luna and Neville, also holding hands. In her other hand Luna had a bouquet of the most beautiful field flowers. But Harry and Draco were nowhere to be found. As the group had passed us, we got up, wrapping the towels around our nude bodies one more time. Ginny took my hand, and leaned in once again, her kiss sweet and quick. This wasn't enough for me, I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her closer, our mouths melting together, and our tongues finding their own dance by the second. As our kiss broke my lips felt oddly cold, I took Ginny's hand once again and just before we went back to the others I looked over at a few trees standing close to each other, I saw some white hair and I immediately thought of Draco, as another head appeared I knew it was Draco and Harry, embracing each other in a very deep kiss, I chuckled for myself as I said to Ginny: "Look, Hermione was wrong."

Ginny: "Yeah she was, but they are not a couple."

"Not yet, but they will be."

Ginny: "Well now we are not alone anymore."

"You are right, it feels nice, doesn't it?"

Ginny: "It really does."

"Come on, let's head back to the others."

Ginny: "Good idea."

Hand in hand, we went back to the others sitting around the campfire they had started. As Ginny and I found our clothes and hid behind trees and bushes to change, Hermione appeared behind us, clearing her throt before she said: "I thought you were sick sis."
Turning around I saw her grinning smile and I just shook my head at her and said: "I was, but I'm feeling much better now."

Hermione: "That's good, we went to a small town today and we bought some chicken and vegetables."

"Sounds delicious, we'll be out in just a minute."

Before Hermione left, she whispered in my ear: "You know everyone saw you two before right."

"Yes, Hermione, I'm aware of that, and so what, we see Neville and Luna kiss all the time, and don't tell me you and Ron can't keep your hands to themselves lately."

Hermione: "That is none of your business."

As I started laughing Hermione quickly realised that I had been mocking her and she said: "Ha-ha, very funny Harlow, but seriously keep it to yourselves."

"Hermione, are you being homophobic?" 

Hermione: "No, not at all, I'm sorry, forget that I just said that you two are so good together and of course you are allowed to show your love in public."

"Thank you, Hermione."

Hermione left and Ginny looked irritated at me and said: "Is she serious? She's the one that's been the most supporting until now, what do you think happened?"

"I don't know, I don't think I really care either, lets just go back to the others."
Ginny nods and we go back to the campsite where Harry and Draco had also appeared, I sat down between Hermione and Luna, Ginny sat between Hermione and Ron, as we both thought it would be for the best. 

Hermione handed me a chicken skewers and we all started eating, the chicken was perfectly made, and I think we all needed some real food again. 
The rest of the night went by laying on blankets starring up at the sky, I could identify some of the star signs, as I'm the astrology nerd between us, Draco seemed very interested, as I explained how you could connect the stars and they would make a constellation.
