The room of requirement

1997

Wednesday April 9th

Ginny enters my room with tears in her eyes, I get up immediately and hug her. She hugs me back, when she calms down, she says: "Forgive me, I've done something really stupid, it didn't mean anything I promise."

"It's okay, talk to me. I'm sure we can fix it whatever it is."

Ginny: "Are you sure?"

"Yes."

Ginny: "Okay, Harry kissed me."

"He did what?" I say furiously.

Ginny: "He kissed me."

"When, where?"

Ginny: "An hour ago, in the room of requirement."

"What were you doing in the room of requirement?"

Ginny: "I promised I'd help him hide the half-blood prince's book."

"And then he just kissed you?"

Ginny: "I guess he misread the mood."

"How does that happen?"

Ginny: "I'm so sorry, it didn't mean anything to me, I promise."

"I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at him."

I get madder by the second, and just then Hermione walks in and still furious I ask her: "Where is Harry?"

Hermione: "In the common room, why?"

"Doesn't matter, I need to talk to him."

I leave Ginny and Hermione in the room and storm out to Harry and Hermione was right he was there with Ron and Neville.

I stand beside Harry, and he can see the madness in my eyes as he looks at me he asks a little scared: "Is everything all right, Harlow?"

"What do you think?"

Harry: "No?" he says unsure.

"Wow, we really have a genius he can read the mood. Which you couldn't do just an hour ago."

Harry: "What do you mean?"

"You and Ginny, the room of requirement, does anything ring a bell?"

Harry: "Yes?"

"You kissed my girlfriend, and you think that is okay."

Harry: "Wait, your girlfriend? You know Ginny is single right?"

"No, she isn't, we've been together for over a year, and you kissed her."

Harry: "And so what?"

I turn to Ron and say: "How would it make you feel if Harry had kissed Hermione in the room of requirement?"

Ron: "I'd be as mad as you are right now."

"Exactly, just because you think someone is single you don't have the right to kiss them, you had your shot with Ginny, and she didn't want you."

Harry: "I'm sorry okay, what do you want me to say?"

"Don't ever kiss her again, or I will destroy you."

Just then my emotions take over and I transform into a grizzly bear.

Harry gets up and start running, I follow him, drool running down my sharp bear teeth.

I lunge at Harry, but I miss, Ginny must have heard me growling, because she comes running screaming: "Harlow, Harlow, calm down, it's okay."

I calm down a little by her voice, enough to transform back to a human. I go over to Ginny, and she hugs me tightly and whispers in my ear: "It's okay, you are safe."

Hermione walks over to Harry and says: "How dare you, you know they are dating."

Harry: "I'm sorry okay, I got carried away, and I didn't know that they were dating."

Hermione: "You have seen them kiss at new year's."

Harry: "I didn't think it would last."

Hermione: "that still doesn't give you the right to kiss Ginny."

Harry: "Okay I'm sorry."

Ginny takes my hand, and we go to my room together.

Hermione joins us a minute later; we all sit down on my bed and Hermione say: "Are you okay?"

"I guess I am I just got so mad."

Hermione: "I know, but you need to control yourself."

"I know I'm sorry."

Hermione: "Harry is sorry too; he should have known you two are dating."

Ginny: "I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have let it happen."

"it's okay Ginny, don't beat yourself up for it."

Hermione: "Okay, now that everyone has said that they are sorry, Ron asked if you would want to play boardgames tonight."

"I'm not really up for it, I think I just want to stay here and maybe draw something."

Ginny: "I'll stay here, but you go ahead Hermione."
Hermione nods shortly and says: "Just come and join us whenever, you know where we will be."

Ginny: "Yeah we know."

As the door closes behind Hermione, Ginny says: "Do you want me to stay?"

"You can do whatever you want."

Ginny: "Harlow, I love you."

My eyes soften by her words, and I say: "I love you too."

Ginny leans in and kisses me, I pull away and say: "It feels too wired, I feel like I'm kissing Harry."

Ginny: "Okay, what can I do."

"I don't know, I just think I need a little space for now, just join the others tonight, and maybe we should take a short break, I need to figure out how I feel."

Ginny: "Okay, but we will get back together, right?"

"Yes, we aren't breaking up, just a few days apart."

Ginny: "Okay, I won't be joining the others tonight."

"Okay, you can if you want to."

Ginny: "I don't want to; I'm going to my room now."

"Okay."

As Ginny leaves a tear runs down my cheek, I quickly wipe it away, and for the next few hours I just lay in my bed and stare at the ceiling until I fall asleep.
