Monday January 17th
We have been back at Hogwarts for a week. Mostly school, but last Wednesday something happened. We had just finished our last class of the day and were walking back to the common room when we heard a loud explosion coming from the forbidden forest. We of course knew that it wasn't safe to go there, but we couldn't resit the temptation to investigate.
As we approached the edge of the forest, we saw a group of hooded figures running deeper into the trees. We followed them cautiously, trying not to get too close.
Suddenly one of the figures turned around and pointed their wand at us, we were frozen in place, unsure what to do next. The figure started to say something, but before they could finish their sentence, a bright light illuminated the forest, and the figure disappeared into thin air. We looked around, trying to figure out what had just happened, when we saw a small, glittering object lying on the ground. It was a clue! We had stumbled upon a treasure hunt that had been set up by the seven years. Exited by the prospect of the treasure, we followed the clues deeper into the forest, taking care to avoid any more hooded figures. We finally arrived at a clearing, where we found a small chest filled with cold coins other treasures. Ginny and I were overjoyed by our discovery and couldn't wait to share the news with our friends. It was an adventure we would never forget.
As we were making our way back to the castle, we heard footsteps behind us. We turned around and saw that it was Professor McGonagall. She looked stern, and we knew that we were in trouble: "What are you two doing out here" she asked. We explained that we had stumbled upon a treasure hunt and that we had followed the clues into the forest. Professor McGonagall looked at us for a moment, then let out a small chuckle: "Well, I suppose I can't fault you for your curiosity" she said: "But in the future, I would advise you to stay out of the Forbidden Forest. It's not a safe place for students." We nodded, relieved that we weren't going to get into too much trouble. Professor McGonagall then escorted us back to the castle, reminding us that we had a curfew to keep. As we made our way back to the common room, we couldn't stop talking about our adventure. We knew we had broken the rules, but it was worth it for the thrill of the hunt. What other adventures would await us at Hogwarts? We can't wait to find out.
