1996

Wednesday September 29th

We've been sitting on the jetty for some time in silence. Ginny leans her head on my shoulder and says quietly: "I'm sorry, I know we don't get much time together anymore."
"Don't be sorry, this is all an exiting year, me as prefect and you as the newest chaser on the quidditch team. It's natural that we don't get that much time together."
Ginny: "It's truly exciting, isn't it?"
"It really is, but let's not talk about what we don't get to do but just enjoy that we are together."
Ginny: "You are right, let's live in the moment."
Ginny lifts her head from her shoulder and extend her hand, inviting me to dance. My heart skips a beat as I rise to my feet, allowing her to guide me in a graceful sway. With each step, I feel the warmth of her touch and the rhythm of our love intertwining. The moon emerges, casting a shimmering silver glow upon the lake, enhancing the enchantment of the night.
Lost in the magic of the moment, we find ourselves at the edge of the jetty, and with a shared mischievous smile, we decide to dip our toes into the cool water. Hand in hand, we descend the stairs, the playful splashes of water adding to the melody of our laughter. The freedom and joy I feel are unparalleled, as if the world has faded away, leaving only the two of us in this blissful moment.
Returning to the jetty, wrapped in warm towels, we nestle together on the blanket. I lean into Ginny's comforting embrace, relishing the feel of her arms around me. With our gazes fixed on the starlit sky above, we share dreams, secrets, and tender kisses. The night wrapped around us like a protective cocoon, and I can't imagine a more perfect place to be.
As the evening came to a close, I held Ginny tightly, not wanting to let go of the magic we had created. The bathing jetty, the lake, and the love we share will last forever be etched in my heart. This romantic evening had become a symbol of our deep connection and the endless happiness I find in the arms of the person I love the most.
We get up from the blanket and fold it together. And walk hand in hand back to the castle. As we enter the Gryffindor common room long after curfew Hermione, Ron, and Harry is still sitting in the common room playing wizards chess. As Hermione looks up, she sees us and exclaims: "Where have you been?"

"We were at the lake"

Hermione: "Aren't you two freezing?"

Ginny shrugs: "It's not that bad."

Hermione: "Go change to some warm clothes and you are more than welcome to join us when you do."

"Okay, we'll be right back"

As we walk down the corridor Ginny says: "Was is just me or did she sound like my mother?"

I laugh: "Yeah she did."

We go to each our room to change, and after a few minutes we meet again in the corridor. Ginny is wearing a sweatshirt that I gave her for Christmas last year and a pair of pyjamas pants. Accidentally I chose to wear the exact same pair of pyjamas pants and a sweatshirt that Ginny gave me last Christmas.
We go back to the others, and we join Hermione on the couch as the boys are playing chess while sitting in the chairs.
We sit with them for about an hour but then Hermione gets up and says: "I'm going to bed, see you tomorrow."

Harry: "Night Hermione"

Ron: "Night love."

As Hermione starts walking away, I say: "Hermione, wait up."
Both Ginny and I get up and join Hermione.
I kiss Ginny goodnight outside her room before going with Hermione to ours.
We quietly get into bed, and I fall asleep thinking of Ginny and our magical evening.
