Chapter Nineteen: Aftermath
Harry's Point of View:
Without a doubt, I'm madly in love with the girl that I just walked away from. Why I couldn't just tell her that when she was standing right in front of me boldly stating that she loved me back is the problem.
When I stormed out of the airport, I didn't have a clear destination. I just knew that I couldn't stay there. I couldn't watch Andy get on that plane while smiling and pretending that I was okay with letting her leave. When that couldn't be further from the truth. Knowing that she was leaving, it drove me crazy.
She had even practically asked me to ask her to stay. I could see it in her eyes that she wanted to, she just wanted to give me a reason. And I couldn't even do that. I couldn't look into her eyes and ask her to stay with me, because I wasn't worth it. I would only hurt her. So why postpone the inevitable.
My phone was vibrating in my pocket, but I couldn't be bothered with anyone right now. I had to figure out how I feel, and I have to do it alone.
"Harry!" A familiar voice calls out from behind me, but I just chose to ignore it. She was the last person I wanted to talk to right now.
But since she is just a determined little thing, she picked up her pace so that she was keeping up with my angry one.
"Harry, why did you do that?" Eleanor voiced the question that I had been asking myself since Andy walked into the airport with Niall this morning.
Once again, I didn't answer her. I couldn't answer her, mainly because I didn't have an answer that would make her feel better. In fact, I didn't have an answer at all.
"She was so hurt, Harry. I don't know what happened yesterday, but I know that girl loves you so much. I know that it caught her off guard to realize she had real feelings for you when it was just supposed to be a game for both of you. I know she's scared, and I know you are too. I also know that you love her back." She continued, and I just rolled my eyes until something she had said caught my attention.
"How did you know about our agreement?" I mumbled, hoping that the annoying brunette wouldn't hear me.
"Did you really think Louis could keep it a secret from me?" She asked, amusement clear in her voice.
Of course, Louis had told her. He told her everything, and she had him whipped. But I couldn't even be mad at him, because it was a secret I shouldn't have asked him to keep in the first place.
"Do you love her?" She pressed, as we continued to walk in a random direction.
"Eleanor, it's complicated." I snapped at her, obviously catching her off guard because she flinched at my harsh tone.
"No, it's not, Harry. It's the most simple thing in the world." She hissed back, growing tired of my attitude.
That's what made Eleanor and Louis so perfect for each other. They are both the most carefree people in the world. Always making everyone in the room light up. That is until you get on their bad side and they sass you back to where you came from.
"I don't want to love her." I settle with, at least it was the truth.
"Why don't you want to love her? She's great, and she adores you." El questioned, concern and confusion clouding her eyes.
"She's broken, El. I made that broken girl fall in love with me. I made her believe that she has a reason to live again, and she deserves so much more than me. I want to be the person that would be perfect for her, but I'm not. It's only a matter of time until I hurt her just like Kendall did." I admit, swallowing the lump in my throat and allowing myself to tell someone the truth.
